Phoenix is not big. Amar'e Stoudemire averaged 20 points and nine rebounds against the Lakers this season, but he has little banging help inside.

"It's Stoudemire and Frye ... is it Frye?" (Ron) Artest asked.

"It's all good," Frye said.

"I don't care what anybody says ever. If it was up to everybody, we wouldn't even be in the playoffs. . . . They can say whatever they want. They still got to play us and he's gonna know my name by the end of the series."

loved the videos and loved what channing had to say.

Its just too bad amare hasn't been that insane beast that just slams the ball down with an attitude and gets the and 1... I swear though, when he does slam the ball down like that I get goosebumps all over. I hope we see a lot of that vs the fakers.

You will not see a lot of dunks in the playoff, Period! >ot the way they are and will be gaurding him. Camby, Duncan and now Gasol are pretty smart defenders.
I like Channing's attitude but i hope he can back up that talk and not brick his shots. He needs to mix it up in this series.

This Boivin article just drove me nuts. Freaking Laker fans are so arrogant.

http://www.azcentral.com/sports/sun...2phoenix-suns-los-angeles-lakers-favored.html

Like the Jazz without Okur and AK-47 at 25% for two games are a pending Dynasty or something. How is beating the healthy Spurs the way we did not 10X more impressive?

I personally guarantee the Suns will take one of these two games in LA.

There is no way this disrespect doesn't have them bring the intensity needed to steal home court.

Funny. I thought this was going to be an old story on Raja Bell talking about Kobe Bryant.

All fans are arrogant. Nature of sports.

you're kidding, right? only a laker's (yankees, duke, steelers, patriots, redwings) fan could say that. i don't know how you can say that as a cards fan.

No kidding, the same Jazz team we obliterated in Utah at the end of the season. I would be thrilled if they're thinking they'll kill us, all the better.

Every fan is arrogant, I repeat. "Disrespect us and feel our wrath" is another side of the same coin. I've seen plenty of Suns fans quotes along this path, and it is a certain kind of arrogance as well.

It bears pointing out that all the teams you mentioned are proven and consistent winners (Actually not sure about the red wings. Not much of a hockey fan, but I assume they are). Maybe consistent winning breeds growing arrogance in a fanbase.

I am not sure why this needs to be spelled out but Lakers, Yankees, and Duke fans EXPECT Championships like its their birthright. Its a different type of fan. One that has literally been spoiled by success and knows nothing else. Read my signature. Its a whole different planet when you have been to the depths my friend.

So when those teams go head to head with another team in a postseason game, with many of them (not you D) you can't even discuss the game within the game. Its just "We are the Lakers, we have Kobe and Phil, we will win."

Just because you have Lakers across the chest doesn't mean anything in specific instances.

I feel confident and to hear all this baseless rhetoric by Plaschke and "Insert random jackass Laker fan name here _____" how the Suns won't compete because the Lakers are getting it all of a sudden, really pisses me off. So pompous and its such a done deal that they are planning on the Finals already.

Again I will say it. No way we don't get at least 1 of 2 in LA (vbookie?).

I am not sure where the series will go from there but I guarantee the Lakers are going to get our best punch these first two games.

goes with the territory. difficult to be arrogant when the team you root for sucks or hasn't been to the pinnacle. the main reason i'm a somewhat arrogant individual normally, but a very humble sports guy (cards, suns, dbacks, coyotes . . . okay, maybe some arrogance with my hoyas!).

A lot of the arrogance (and ignorance) comes from the wannabe's and bandwagon fans that latch on to a winner. In college basketball, there is no more hated fan than that of the Duke Blue Devils but it wasn't always that way. If you could jump back in time to the newsgroups and forums of the early 90's the Blue Devil sites were filled with very knowledgeable and reasonable fans. The same has been true with Lakers sites and Celtics sites and Bulls sites. If we ever put together a string of championships our fan base will swell with those types also.

I think you are proving Donald's point here.

Not in the least. Even if he's wrong I don't think his comment is necessarily arrogant. I'd see nothing wrong with someone looking at the year long performance of the Lakers and rating this series as an LA sweep. And someone looking at the recent performance of this Suns team and weighing it against the Lakers of the past 8 weeks could easily expect a win in LA. Confidence, even misguided confidence, isn't necessarily arrogance.

Not even close. If you read the article and see the responses to the Laker questions (i.e "little dude" or "I don't know who Frye is" by Artest) knowing the Suns like I do, I think they are going to come out (rightfully) pissed and give the Lakers all they can handle in LA. Doesnt matter if its from Plaschke or Kobe himself. That is going to fuel them. If I was Nash I would drop 40 and 10 on the Lakers and turn to look at Plaschke in press row and ask "Who the f' are you calling 'little dude'?"

Thats not me being arrogant. Thats me seeing the circumstances in front of me and having an opinion on whats going to happen because of it. More like cause and effect.

To further my point, I also have a bet with my coworker that the Cavs are going to win tonight because I think LBJ is going to be pissed with all the negative pub, and eviscerate the Celtics in Boston. Does that make me an arrogant Cleveland fan too?????

I am thinking that Nash will be motivated whether Platchske disrespects him or not. If Nash has the ability to drop 40 on the Lakers, he will do it regardless.

Fans of teams that win championships usually expect their teams to win.

This arrogance discussion is dumb. Was that arrogant?

Well, you guys are splitting hairs. One guy guarantees that PHX will win at least one game in L.A. next week and it's "confidence", but Laker fans who guarantee a series win are "arrogant". Okay.

As for Artest, he's a different kind of dude. I doubt he was taking shots at Frye. He probably didn't know Frye's name.

As a Lakers fan i can say without a doubt, that most Lakers fans expect to win the title this year. We see Phoenix as a viable opponent that can cause some problems with shooting. But we also feel that, this Lakers team has yet to really put together a solid 4 quarters this postseason and if they can assert their dominance in the paint offensively and defensively, and Kobe can manage his shot selection and execute, theres not much the Suns or any team for that matter can do to beat them ...especially in a 7 game series.

Will there be a sweep ? Likely not..........Suns are too good to be swept and u have to believe they will stroke it from three at least one of these games.

I don't quite understand your position. Granted, it's possible to guarantee a win and do so arrogantly but are you really suggesting that it has to be arrogance regardless of word choice and tone? Suns rule, we're gonna kick some Laker butt and send them back to their mommies is much different than I guarantee this team will win a game in LA.

As I said, I wouldn't consider it arrogance for a Lakers fan to look at the year long results and guarantee a sweep. There's plenty of evidence to support that position. But likewise, a much shorter term evaluation could easily lead a Suns fan (without arrogance) to predict/guarantee the Suns will pick up a win on the road.

Again you don't seem to be getting it. Did you see the Cleveland analogy at the end of my post?

If the situations were reversed and the Suns were the heavy favorite and everyone in PHX was saying this was going to be a cake walk, your damn right I would be worried about LA's talent and coaching to the point where I would be concerned they were going to steal homecourt advantage in the first couple games.

Again its not because I am a Suns fan that I am saying that. I am saying it as an educated opinion because of what I am reading before the series starts and my watching of Laker games and Suns games this playoffs.

Conversely Cheech down in LA is saying "Shoot man I haven't seen the Suns play all year, but NO ONE is beating the Lakers. We were 3-1 against them for the 4 games I watched. Not to mention we are THE LAKERS!"

See the difference in the arrogance? You might not be one of those fans, but those are the fans I am talking about. And like it or not that is the VAST majority of Laker fans.
