Great game last night, beating the Lakers on their home floor. Jake Voskhul=Shaq!!! While it was scrub wars, it was still great to see the Suns beat the Lakers at Staples Center.

I agree it is always good to beat the Lakers. To bad it was close.

A win is a win. For the first time in ages, the Suns had an advantage in the paint and actually used it. Watching White back down Cook was a joy to watch.

The reason the Suns struggled was because of their inexperience. The Lakers may not be a playoff team with out Shaq, Mailman, and Kobe; but they did have a veteran small lineup of Payton, Fisher, George, and Russell. Payton did a real number on Barbosa and the Lakers exploited the Suns inexperience repeatedly. Yet somehow the Suns won anyway.

I was thrilled to see JJ have another great night, especially since no one else (other than Voskuhl) was doing well. Many players can put up good numbers when the team is doing well or when the game is a blowout, but coming though when no one else is in a close game is very impressive.

But against Denver, San Antonio, and Minnesota; everyone will have to be at the top of their game for the Suns to even have a chance.

They put Marion at power forward and he really struggled.

Zarko did not look very good........
His wrist must be bothering him.

I thought Eisley looked okay, he is still learning the offense and will get much better in the coming games. He is a good shooter and should improve after playing a while.

Voskuhl & JJ looked great and JJ played 48 minutes on back to back games.................he was probably a little tired.

I agree that watching White bang Cook was fun. It seems that the suns may not want to trade White with that big body. It is nice to have him to knock the other team around some in every game, it makes the other players jobs a lot easier.

:)

If we're not clearing cap to get a Kobe Bryant, as many assert, then why try to get rid of Jahidi? With or without him, we're under the cap, and getting rid of White's contract isn't going to make us acquire someone who is a lot better than if we still have his contract.

I agree, but if the C's don't trade googs, then they might dump White to try to get under the salary cap this year to avoid the luxuary tax.

Although, I'm still not sure they would be under even if they do get rid of white

Every dollar they cut would be worth 2 down to around $51 million (hey where is Capologist anyway?). But the more likely scenerio will be that Williams will retire and become a coach (at exactly the same salary). White is too valuable on an already undersized team.

I honestly believe that White could become a lot better if he lost about 15 to 20 pounds. He is healthy for the first time in several years and is just beginning to learn the offense. An off season of conditioning and learning how to catch a pass might do wonders for him.

Whenever the Suns beat the Lakers, those in my family that are rabid Suns fans always call me the next day and razz me about it.

No calls today so far.

It was kind of an uninteresting way to finally beat a team in their building after 5 years of futility.

I thought the Suns, even without Amare, were going to blow us out. If Fish hits one of his late shots, the streak would have continued.

It's funny how everyone got so upset about Karl and Gary going to the Lakers saying that a title would be a slam dunk for that roster. It is definitely not looking like a slam dunk.

I don't know if we'll compete for a title in the next few years, but I am looking forward to a team without Kobe in the lineup.

Good game by you guys. Glad to see a player like JJ starting to play more consistant for you. Lil' Jake too.

Thanks for the good-hearted ribbing.

Eddie Johnson was screaming that they should foul someone rather than risk the Lakers hitting one of those long three's. Of course after watching Eisley create a four point play, maybe Mike thought better of it.
