Man, I was reminded of this story of how the Stillers dodged a huge bullet that ended up hurting the Cards. In the 2003 offseason, Dexter Jackson, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, agreed to sign with Pittsburgh. Then he did an abrupt about face, told them no, and went to sign with Arizona instead, much to our collective chagrin. With a gaping hole at safety, the Stillers then went and drafted Troy Polamalu in the 2003 draft. Damn it! We could have avoided a banana skin and screwed the Stillers all at once if that damned guy had just kept his word :(

Hindsight really sucks when discussing the Arizona Cardinals…

I still have a Dexter Jackson signed football from that training camp after he signed... lol.

I remember my dad was like "he was the Super Bowl MVP! You have to let him sign an entire ball to himself! That'll be worth something someday!"

Man, the sordid world of Arizona Cardinals football. I love when some of these names are brought up. Just reminds me how dedicated we really are and at the same time just how bereft of exceptional talent we've been for decades and decades.
