He Said He Wants To Be A Cardinal, Are The Steelers Seriously Going To Pay Him More?

No worries, just "keeping the powder dry" for the June cuts. :bang: I haven't freaked out yet this offseason but will be seriously pissed if this team does not address the holes at LB with QUALITY veterans, not other teams scrubby castoffs or mid round draft picks.

There are serious gaps at the LB position, now is not the time to be cute about salary. The Cards need these guys more than they need the Cards. I'm not saying overpay, but this is not business as usual. Foote wanted to play here, he's a quality player and would fit a need. What's the problem??????

But we have time to consider offering a pick and chasing down Charlie freaking Whitehurst?

How can the Steelers outbid us for a player that would be a backup for them and a starter for us?

I heard an interview with KTAR's Doug Franz and he made an interesting evaluation regarding FA and the Draft. He said the new regime uses FA to fill holes on the team and the draft to grow potential talent; not like in previous years when they counted on high draft picks to start immediately.

They did the right thing by bringing in Porter and Foote. Signing one or both automatically addresses gaps on this team. I thought Foote would be a slam dunk because of our thin depth at ILB and his desire to play here. I understand that Graves is trying to establish leverage by looking at Ayodele and waiting til Foote completes his visit at Pittsburgh, but this had better not blow up in his face.

EDIT: Just read that article. ****!!!!

Listen just because Foote says all the right things on camera doesn't mean he truly "wanted to play here" So please stop using his comments in the video on azcardinals.com as an excuse to bash graves.

Foote could have been playing this organization the whole time and just using us as a negotiating ploy. I will have to wait see and see some contract #s before I blow up!

Detroit Lions free agent linebacker Larry Foote, who met with the Arizona Cardinals this week, is scheduled to visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday, according to a league source.

Foote spent the first seven seasons of his NFL career with the Steelers, racking up 432 tackles and 14½ sacks in 110 games.

Foote had 99 tackles for the Lions in the 2009 season.
