Fairfield Christian Academy 3, Berne Union 0: Brayden Stem pitched seven shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out 13 in the Knights’ Mid-State League-Cardinal Division win over the Rockets.

AJ Holbrook had three hits and scored two runs, and Henry Roberts had an RBI single for the Knights.

Clayton Moore took the loss for the Rockets as he went the distance, giving up four hits, one earned run and struck out five. He also went 2 for 3, including a double.

Fairfield Union 15, Amanda-Clearcreek 5: The Falcons cruised in their MSL-Buckeye Division win over the Aces.

Micah Hartman led the way with a double, three RBI and three runs scored. Brady Andrews had two hits and scored two runs and Jacob Forson had a hit and two RBI.

Dylan Chilcote started and picked up the win. In three-plus innings, he gave up two hits, four earned runs and struck out eight.

Liberty Union 3, Hamilton Township 2: Tanner Farmer pitched seven innings, giving up runs on two hits and striking out seven to help lead the Lions to an MSL-Buckeye Division win over the Rangers.

SOFTBALL

Liberty Union 15, Hamilton Township 0:
The Lions improved to 6-0 after their five-inning MSL-Buckeye Division win over the Rangers.

Liberty Union finished with 17 hits. Payton Hochradel led the way by going 4 for 4 and scored three runs. Haeden Brunty had two hits and three RBI, Emmalee Putnam had two hits and two RBI, Addi Osterman had two hits, including a home run, Eden Wilson had two hits, including a home run and three RBI, while Suzie Shultz and Alexis McCoy had two RBI each.

Shultz started in the circle, pitching three innings, giving up one hit while striking out six. Wilson pitched two innings, giving up one hit and striking out three.

Millersport 24, Wellington 0: Emma Raver drove in four runs on two hits to help lead the Lakers to a dominating win over the Jaguars.

Kendyl Bonkowski picked up the win in the circle, giving up one hit while striking out 12.

struck out 12 batters on the day. The hurler also gave up one hit and zero runs over five innings while walking two. The Lakers finished with 18 hits. Bonkowski and Ava Blevins each led the way with four hits each.

Cloe Hatzer led the way by going 3 for 4, including a double, three RBI and scored three runs. Aleah Smiley had a triple and three RBI, and Rylee North had a hit, three RBI and scored three runs. Josilyn Hedges pitched five innings to pick up the win. She gave up two earned runs and struck out five.

Fisher Catholic places first: The Irish boys and girls competed in the Rocky Brand Invitational at Nelsonville York. The boys placed first out of 11 teams in the small school division and finished with 139 points.

Leading the Irish were seniors Thomas Ristau and Daschel Neighbor. Thomas Ristau won the 400 Meter Dash 54.58 Pr and 6th in the Long Jump-17'. Daschel Neighbor placed 1st in the 300 Hurdles 42.18Pr and 3rd in the 110 High Hurdles 16.84 Pr,100 Meter Dash 11.9 5th. The 4x100 Meter Relay Team of Ristau, Neighbor, Nolan Garrabrant, and Jacob Welsh placed 1st 46.22. The 4x 400 Relay Team of Ristau, Nolan Garrabrant, Reece Hagy, and Leo Hampshire placed 1st-3:43.50.

Nolan Garrabrant placed 1st in the High Jump-6'2" and 3rd in the 200 Dash-24.64Pr. Reece Hagy placed 1st in the 800 Run at 2:08.52 and 6th in the 1600 Run at 5:05.6 and the 4 X 800 Relay Team of Hagy, Roman Funk, Corbin Stobart, and Leo Hampshire placed 1st 8:36.6. Roman Funk placed 1st in the 3200 Run 10:29.7 and 2nd in the 1600 Meter Run-4:50.5. Corbin Stobart place 2nd in the 3200 Run-10:42.9 and Leo Hampshire placed 2nd in the Pole Vault-8'6" and 4th in the 400-56.03.

The Irish girls placed fifth out of 12 Teams scoring 55 points. Leading the Irish was sophomore Eve Ohwahforwaraye who placed 2nd in the 300 Hurdles 54.26 and 4th in the 100 low Hurdles 18.06. The 4 x 800 Relay Team of Allie Krile, Clare Hampshire, Savannah Thorne and Maggie Murphy placed 2nd at 12:29.5. Senior Kiarra Sexton placed 3rd in the Pole Vault 7' and 4th in the Shot Put-29'7.25" and Erica Sharp placed 4th in the High Jump-4'6".
