I don't think it could be any better if we have set them both up ourselves. I was wondering how such a poor team could win 7 games this year, and I had to look no further than the schedule. This year we our main reason was getting the Jags and Titans at home. We happen to match up great for those two offensively inept teams, and playing them at home we could match the intensity of their defenses, that can apply to the Bucs win also. So, we caught both the Giants and Colts on horrible seasons for them, and then through in the 3 pre-Garropallo Niner games and you have 7 wins. Great for us with the exception that with such a bad team this year, we normally would have lost more games and had gained higher draft picks.

Next year might even be better scheduling wise. We get the power teams, Packers, Chiefs, Vikings, Chargers away. IMO that is a good thing in the sense that except for maybe the Chargers, those are losses no matter where we play them. So why waste a home game on any of them. Instead we get the easier beatable teams at home where we will need to go undefeated if we have any chance of making the playoffs. The Bears, Broncos, Lions, and Raiders will be much easier to handle at home, with less of a chance of losing to one of them.

I know we are missing two teams that haven't been announced yet. One is a home game with an NFCEast team, and the other an away game with a NFCSouth team. Probably the best set up being that one of the Saints, Falcons, or Panthers could be the South team which would make us underdogs anyway.

I know some might totally disagree with my thinking and prefer to play the best teams at home and the worst on the road. That would be more fun for fans I know, but I don't feel maximizes our chances for the best record.

NFL is a year to year proposition.. 5 of the 6 NFC playoff teams weren't there last year.. projecting next year's schedule difficulty is a fruitless exercise.

sounds sound ;)

Yeah for playoff appearance and SB chances, the schedule is sure a highly defining element. With a bit better play, and not that abyssmal offense we would be in a dog fight for a playoff spot this week.
