Great winning meaningless games will just keep this distaster of a team in tact...rather get number one pick and build with a star player.

:mulli:

I am fine with them winning meaningless games if the young guys are getting time. Booker and Warren are killing it this game.

Hell, even Brandon Knight is looking like a real PG.

Yep, 51 bench points, Booker, Warren, and Tele all w/ 17 if I am reading this right

Yeah I get that but it will be just Suns like to win enough games to pick 13th you know. I mean if your gonna suck at least do that right. Play the young guys then figure out a way to also lose games lol

Everybody would "rather get number one pick" but we're not in control of that. We have to get lucky in the lottery no matter what. We're likely to finish among the 5 worst records this season and unless we throw games that's probably not going to change. Charlotte, missing 3 rotation players, just happens to be one of the few teams that are even worse than we are. Especially when we're rested and playing at home.

Ha, ya but that's tough to do when the coach is trying to save his job, and you got some guys on the team with passion who want to stay in the NBA, rather then end up in Europe or China

Hate to break it to you, but Phoenix isn't going to lose every game from here on out. (And they're most likely not going to win enough to get the #13 pick either.)

This is EXACTLY the type of game you should want to see. The young guys are playing really well and Knight is actually making smart decisions. If these types of games end up in a win, so be it. At least your young guys are developing and playing well enough to win you some games.

What's that, our 7th or 8th win in our last 28 games? I don't think there's any cause for concern about playing too well.

I don't know, we could go on a roll here! Hornacek may have found the right formula!

that's why in a lost season, you fire the coach and just FINALLY do what this team has needed to do for six years. Be as atrocious as humanly possible and just play the young guys.

I actually think we might go on a roll but I don't expect it to happen for a month or two. This win, at home, against a team that was mediocre even prior to injuries to 3 of their 4 best players probably doesn't tell us much.

Maybe That's Sarver's next move, firing Hornacek and naming one of those green assistants as "interim" HC for the rest of the year. Na, he's too busy with his new soccer team to think of that I bet.

I feel like you've probably written this post numerous times over the last six years. If we keep winning these type of games, you might as well cut and paste this because it'll be another six years of the same not-good-enough-to-get-to-the playoffs-not-bad-enough-to-get-THE-difference-maker-we-need.

Agreed. If the Suns don't end this season with a bad enough record to at least secure a top 3 pick, their just prolonging the rebuilding process even further away.

The Suns are a mess now and its up to them if they want to continue on that path for more years to come or start to try and figure things around.

This game was the worst possible scenario all around. Bench Booker so no longer do we have even one of our "future big 3" in Len, Warren and Booker starting AND to top it off, they win against a bad team that's missing like 5 players which will hurt them at the end of the year come lottery time.

Its fine to win with Warren, Booker and Len starting. Because at least the young guys are showing ability to pull of wins while starting but to do it in this scenario is completely useless.

Come on... its one game. We'd lost 20 of our last 25 coming into tonight, I don't think you need to worry about them having suddenly righted the ship.

And this is Hornacek we're talking about, whatever worked well tonight will probably be out the window next game as he creates his lineups from a ouija board.

I'd bet my balls that we're going to end up somewhere between the 2nd to 6th worst record in the league... unless they do something bat **** crazy and swing some big trade to trying and turn it around, but a sell off is far more likely.

I want the Suns to lose any many games as possible this season.

But I'm not going to get mad when their young guys play well and, in turn, they win a few games here and there.

Benching Booker? He had a huge game and played 32 minutes! Warren played 37 minutes! I know you love to spin narratives to fit your inane ramblings but that is absurd even for you.

I'm interested in what the Suns do before the trade deadline. This will tell a lot about their intentions for this season and the future.

I can't believe that some people are complaining about one win. Winning is a part of development for young players too. They need to learn to win. I get it- we want a high pick, but this is ridiculous!

Finishing with the worst record is not an effective way to build a championship team. Getting a great player is important but finishing dead last is no guarantee that's going to happen. Since the early 90's only Dallas and Golden State have finished dead last and eventually won a championship but they each did it 13 years after and I can't see any connection between their championship and their league worst record.

well, we've tried the other mediocre way for six years and that hasn't come close to accomplishing anything.
