I'm watching Channel 12 news at 10:05, reporting the Horry incident, and there's no mention of a decision yet.

Are you saying that the league has made a decision?

Not at all.

I'm just saying that Horry's actions could be a turning point in the
series if Amare and Boris are suspended.
Why, because Horry decides to play as a hockey enforcer, i.e. THUG!

Does that not make him the Spurs series MVP?

One of the scary aspects of this process is that it might encourage teams to bring back the thugs.

Look at this scenerio. You're losing, so why not send in your 12th man to beat the crap out of a key member of the other team - and do it right in front of the opponent's bench. What do have to lose? A guy you won't play anyway and you have a great chance to get opponent's guys in trouble. I'd almost like to see somebody do this, just to force the league to change the rule.

Its amazing.. If you go to the spurs board, they have a 8 page thread calling for the heads of Amare and Boris like they murdered someone but practically no mention of Cheap Shot Bob..

If there is a suspension they really should send Burke in just to knock Tim Duncan's head off right in front of the San Antonio bench in the next game. That's the thug mentality they would be perpetuating, and that they board he allowed with the officiating so far in this series.

Spurs fans do now visit our board as much as Mav fans; but when they do they never acknowledge that the Spurs foul a lot. They were in denial about the Bowen kick and other forms of dirty play, so why should we be surprised when an obvious example of a guy trying to seriously hurt an opponent's star would get no comment?

If the Suns are at full strength, the Spurs may not be able to beat them in Phoenix. Sportsmanship be damned.

Umm. The Horry play was uncalled for.

Signed MIB <- A Spurs Fan :)

Bruce Bowen still plays solid defense and Steve Nash should have a 3rd MVP trophy.

Well, in fairness to Horry, let's look at it through his point of view:

Yep, that's what I thought he saw.

I have a feeling the NBA will find a "creative" way to explain why Amare and Boris wont be suspended.. Horrys actions should not be rewarded in any way..

On a lighter note, Nash could totally take him...I mean after all he's been "working on the guns" and could "put together a few combinations" and score some points going to the body :D

This is why "mandatory sentence" punishments are wrong in real life and the NBA. Suspending a guy for running to the aid of his knocked out teammate is silly. Horry may have opened a Pandora's box. If this works out in the Spurs favor, why not have Burke break Duncan's jaw 5 feet from the Spurs' bench? Good luck seeing Duncan's teammates remain on the bench in that scenario. An easy way to trade Burke for Duncan and more.

Agree--zero tolerance is awful. There are judges for reasons. Sometimes it is better for the rule of men rather than the rule of law.

In this pic you can clearly see Amare holding back everyone.. Amare might be good to go if they see this..

Actually.. He has one foot on the court to stop everyone and Boris isnt on the court behind everyone.. Maybe no one gets suspended..

you know - i think it's all Popovich !! his head is the one that should roll BIG time !! considering how dirty this team is and the way they do those dirty tricks with such consistensy i really start to think that Popovich is encouraging them to play this way !
and if he's really behind this, it just means that those Thugs acutally can't win in a fair game !
NBA should really start applying a fair play policy !

Nash, on the other hand is the class of the NBA. Proof being in his interview at the end of the game.

Loved the guns comment - Nashy! Total class and leadership to make light of the whole thing so soon afterward, rather then getting all pissed and dropping dumb comments.

It defuses tension with his teamates (they can watch the interview later and laugh), and with it, defuses the risk of them feeling like they need to 'send a message' and get suspended in the next game.

Also sends a message to league officials about where his (and by extension, his team's) head is at right now. Winning, and nothing else.

I was against the "Hurt Bowen" solution. But if Amare and Diaw are suspended... I may reconsider :gun: and ask for some Burke on Duncan :deadhorse2:
