I'm hoping that fumble either lights a fire under him, or under Arians.

Nearly lost the game for us

Don't count on it. Arians said he hasn't lost faith in him and believed the play should've been ruled dead before the fumble, which tells me he hasn't seen replay of the run.

I did notice that Mending didn't see the field after the fumble.

Doubt the fumble was a death sentence but BA won't keep a blind eye turned if it happens again.

Or he doesn't care and he had his back set in mind before the season even started...that's all I can figure.

I seriously don't get it... All kidding aside, what does Mendenhall bring to this team? What has he done - anything - to warrant his starting position?? What the hell am I missing here?? :bang:

Thank goodness

Not so sure about that. He seems to have a soft spot for him. I know he's a vet, but come on. How much do we have to endure before he makes the change?

I thought the play was dead when the whistle was blown.

It simply never should have happened, especially in that situation. Mendy is very loose with the ball (away from his body) and that is going to happen. I am not saying bench him completely but its very clear who the better running back is and the guy who should be leading our running game.

Is Arians like Buddy Ryan in that he overly sticks up for the offense (like Buddy did the defense)? I wonder how that level of accountability plays with the defense. They have been playing their butts off and to hear that none of the INT's by Palmer were his fault or that Mendy still has his confidence after nearly blowing the game...that has to piss somebody off and make them think there is a double standard.

Taylor for the changeup with the Duke. Mendy could have easily cost us this game. Whistle or not he dropped the ball.

Thank you!!!

coach gave the defense a back handed compliment during the post game conference
he said "i want the ball in the hands of our defense at the end of the game, because that means that our offense has done something good" :D

Ellington should be the starter period! I've seen enough of Mendinhall for a life time. Ellington up the middle gets 4-5 yards, Mendy gets 0-2 yards. BA we are watching and we love football but stop being boneheaded and make the change.
Great win.

The risk-reward with Rashard is trending negative. He did have a couple good carries on Sunday, but overall doesn't seem to be a $2.5 million running back IMO.

And to state the obvious: you cannot cough up the football in that situation. Fall to the ground if you have to, but don't fumble the football.

Sure, he had a couple good runs, but even with those good runs, he was one arm winging the ball around making it much easier to pop the ball out.

I repeat - what does he bring to this offense that mandates his starting position??
He needs to be placed behind Taylor, and RW needs to be given a shot.

He can take it up the gut and make yardage. We have not had anyone who could do that in sometime. There is no one that at some point does not fumble. Yes, he sure fumbled at the worst of times near our goal line. When you have the leagues defensive player of the year hitting you anything is possible. If he was lousy the coach would not be putting him in there.
