I've always been in awe of it. Yes, he gets fouled all the time, yet he almost always keeps his cool.
Yea, like that hard foul by Stack on Shaq when the Heat played the Mavs in the Finals. Shaq held his anger in check. He earned my respect then.

We have a new problem for this team now that the Big Shaqtus is on board. We have 3 guys who don't get calls. Amare, Shaq and even Nash.
I may overstate this....but didnt he foul out of the majority of the games he played for with the heat this year?
Amare does get a lot of calls, he's averaging about 9 fta per game. Still he could easily shoot 5-7+ more per game, but the refs get tired of calling fouls for him. It's like they decide that he's taken enough fts for the night and they'll only make a call if it's really horrendous. Or they feel bad because he's gotten guys in foul trouble and they don't want to foul out someone on the other team. Very few teams have a defender than can guard Amare 1-on-1 and it's hard to double team anyone on the Suns because it gives us open shots.Amare is 6th in the league with 578 free throw attempts.
The only players with more attempts then him are Dwight Howard, Allen Iverson, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Richard Jefferson.
Amare gets plenty of calls.
I think sleeping on piles of money surrounded by beautiful women and adoring fans helps.
Just a little.
