That said, if the defensive game plan was still to play soft coverage, the Cardinals would have had no chance anyway, unless they scored on almost every possession like the week before.

Mitch, I think part of the problem with playing tighter coverage is the guys on the roster. DRC, can't be physical at the line much like Deion Sanders. Put McFadden in press coverage & you're risking a big play over the top because he lacks the speed. Who else on this roster outside of Tolar isn't going to get manhandled with tight coverage. Throw in a lack of consistant pass rush & ability to even touch the QB with the blitz & there's your problem.

I think I was drunk rather then delusional. :)

Count me in the camp of Urban (AHHHHHHHHHHH 4th WR) killing the game for us. I am a big beliver in momentum (just look at the Pack game last week) and had that idiot held onto the ball it would have:

A) Put in the NO defenses mind that they couldn't stop us.

B) Changed the playcalling of the Saints

C) Made the Saints have to score from 20 rather then OUR 40

D) Quieted the crowd

E) and most importantly kept the defense off the field. That is SOOOO important. Especially when you have injuries and played a tough game the week before. and IIRC it was the subsequent drive in which Rolle and DRC got injured.

All season we have seen this team swing on an early fumble, usually for the worse. This was no different. Count me in the camp that the Indy game would have been different if not for Tim's fumble and this NO game if not for Urban (AHHHHHHHHH 4th WR.... who shouldn't have even been active).

Dems the breaks. Once that crowd started going it made it impossible for our offense to get going from that point on.
