I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cards pick up Logan Thomas since he's a Virginia Tech QB just like Arians. But from what I've seen he's being projected as a RB or multi-purpose back or TE. However, I think they could get him in the 6th or 7th round or even as an UDFA.

Herron looks good as well.

Solid, addresses many of our needs, with the exception of o-line id like to see taken in the first 3 rounds.

That being said, I like the first 3 picks. I don't think people are paying attention to our secondary enough.

I could live with us drafting the 1st 4 dudes no doubt, but Thomas is Skelton part deaux & Lyerla will probably problem his way out of an NFL career

I feel the opposite about Lyerla. I have heard him talk and was impressed. I truly believe he has turned his head and life around and gets it now. Unlike any player who got into serious trouble in college, he seems to admit and understand what he did and what it caused, the direction he was going, the fact that no one else is to blame or can change his life but him.

If that is the case and I am correct about him, he is a steal and is a true stud of a TE. Probably the fastest and best physically of all of them. I would surely take the gamble on him with a late round pick. We seem like a good place for him and the success we have had with other troublesome players, who can mentor him. If it wasn't for his past, he would be the number 1 TE on my board.

If Lawrence Phillips didn't have a checkered past he would've been drafted in the top 5 too. ;)

Didn't Hernandez have red flags coming out of UF too?

I wouldn't touch him, but I can buy you're logic of a late round pick though I'm not sure he's gonna be around in the 7th. Cocaine issues & quitting on his team are pretty major issues if you ask me.

I could live with it. I don't think they'll go that way though. Gilbert has some issues covering even though he's fast. I wouldn't take him as I think they'll add some physicality #1. JMHO. Demarcus Lawrence would be a good grab in the third and Herron in the 4th. That's hoping a lot though.

I wonder how much long term considerations are made now to what you draft first. Like, we are going to have to pay Peterson and TM in the future, and probably a lot to keep them both especially if TM keeps getting better. Do we want to have a 3rd CB in that mix? I say you try and get a good solid 2nd CB in free agency and place that first round need elsewhere. I'm assuming you assume we get a LT in free agency, but if there is an enticing pass rusher there first, or some solid top 15er somehow slips down and you choose them.
