googs will not be traded before his contract is out.

Boy, that's going out on a limb. I don't think anyone seriously believes that there's any chance Gugliotta will be traded. The Suns need the salary relief more than anything they might get back in a trade.

I don't think anyone will argue with you about Majerle, Chambers or Hardaway not being the players they sued to be at either the time they were let go, traded or currently playing on the team - and I can assure that if healthy - Zarko is going to be in the game over Googs - Googs gets no free ride here - the guy hardly even played last season when he was supposedly healthy enough to play - nor is anyone here clamoring for Googs to get playinbg time - through injuries and because of a panic move on the suns - everyone knows that Googs has been a bust. As far as JJ getting time over Penny - when he earns that time on the court and stops short-arming shots in the REGULAR SEASON - than that is when he will be on the court. Playing well in Summer Leagues and Pre-season mean squat to me if you can't perform when the game is on - JJ has potential, but it's still hard for me to beieve he is going to reach that - he just doesn't seem to have that inate confidence that great players have (like an Amare) - Penny is the calming influence on this team and if JJ proves he should be out there more - you better believe the Suns will get him out there - but he needs to rpove it first and when Penny went down last year he had his golden opportunity and did very little with it - 1 game on, 2 games off doesn't cut it for your starting 2 guard - especially when that guy doesn't have the experience Hardaway does.

Barkley maybe was not a good one on one defender because he is only 6'4 and constantly got matched up with 6'10 PFs.

Barkley in his prime was probably the best DEFENSIVE rebounder at the time. He was not an excellent shot blocker, but compare to average PFs in that department he did ok. And how many times have you seen Barkley would steal a pass out of nowhere, then finish it with a monster dunk all by himself? Horry certainly cant do that. To me, Barkley was a fine defender when he was young.

Of course, Barkley was not the same player he once was during the final two seaons in phoenix and I agree he often got lazy on defense probably because he spent most of his energy for offense.
