I certainly would not bet on this game but it seemed like the protection for the QB has improved since the start of the season. Anderson has looked a little better with more time to throw. I still hate that Whiz and his arrogance has put us in this situation.

That's not exactly true.

There are a lot of reasons the Cards have done a complete overhaul of the football team that won the NFC West last season.

Retirements, money, conflict between player and management etc. It's not just CKW's arrogance.

And while Whiz is "arrogant" (so was Lombardi I am sure of it, he is a flippin' NFL coach after all) he has a team with a myriad of problems at 3-4, when teams past had far less situations and issues than this one, and would be 1-6.

In the twenty years I've followed the Cards I don't remember ever winning up there. We've had some nice wins over the Vikes, including 1994, 2003, last year. None of these games were in Minnesota. I bet someone that reads this board could say for sure, but I wonder if we have ever won a game in the Metrodome.

Them playing at home helps. Us having musical QBs helps. Them having AP helps.

I really hope we win. I hate the Vikings more than almost any other team in the NFL. However, I am preparring myself for disappointment, just in case.

I can't recall any wins over the Vikes at Minnesota in the last 20 years. I know they beat them in '77 pretty handily with Wayne Morris doing pretty good.

You are correct. 1977 was the last time the Cards won in Minnesota. They've lost 5 straight up there. The Cards won in '63, '67' '72, and in 1977 27-7.

I believe LeVar Woods was starting for us at one point. Not Levar Fischer, Levar flippin' Woods.

He wouldn't have even made this current rosters practice squad.

There really wasn't much of anything on that '03 squad. 2 guys on defense that even knew which end of the field they were supposed to be defending. Adub and Dexter Jackson. Dennis Johnson and Small Play Ray led the team with 3 sacks each!

One of the worst defensive lines the Cards have every assembled: DJ/Wakefield, Wendall Bryant,Russel Davis and an out of position rookie Calvin Pace.

That team produced a classic ASFN post: "We were so bad we made Emmitt cry" after the Cowboys game at Dallas where Smith rushed 6 times for -1 yard.

But they did have that miracle win vs the Vikings which is the 2nd best regular season game I've ever been to in Arizona.

So I guess its a tie.
