Lomax's son throws for five TDs in Oregon semi

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Nick Lomax passed for 206 yards and five touchdowns to lead Lake Oswego to a 42-16 victory over Beaverton last night, sending the Lakers to Oregon Class 4A state finals.

Lomax, son of former Portland State and Cardinals quarterback Neil Lomax, completed his first nine passes as the Lakers took an early 14-0 lead. The 6-foot-7 senior completed 16 of 19 passes as the Lakers, of the Three Rivers League, rolled up 385 yards of total offense.

Good find. According to a website I found these are the schools recruiting Nick:

According to recruiting web sites: Boise State, Brown, California, Colorado, Fresno State, Hawaii, Oregon, Portland State, Washington are recruiting Lomax.

Maybe he's the reason Tedford decided to stay at Cal?

I can't believe Neil has an 18 year old son either just makes me feel older myself.

Make no mistake, if this guy is really worth a hoot, he will follow in the footsteps of the last great Oregon phenom, Erik Ainge. The Vols will soon recruit him and he will find it hard to say no since they put more people into the pros than any other CF program in the nation. And, yes, I can back up that statement if you need me too

Are you kidding me? How about any one of the Florida schools IE Miami, Florida State, Florida, heck ASU has a crap load of players in the NFL over the last decade. Your really tooting something that isnt all that special. Oh and if Ihave to prove the large amounts of players on teams from those schools that are in the NFL then you dont follow sports very well.

Yea Raynoch plays, but as a back-up last I checked? He sucks Plain and simple!

Ray sucks - and do you really need us to start listing off programs that have churned out better pros? Miami, Florida State, and Ohio State are just the first that come to mind. To be sure - Tennessee produces a decent number of pretty good pros - but the Miami and FSU guys blow that relatively weak list in comparison away at their positions: Edge, Portis, McGahee, Reggie Wayne, Santana Moss, Ed Reed, Vince Wolfork, Warren Sapp, Shawn Taylor, Ray Lewis for Miami and FSU's got Quan, TO, Peter Warrick, Warrick Dunn, Walter Jones, Tray Thomas, Derrick Brooks, Corey Simon, Peter Boulware, T-Buck, Sam Cowart, Deion and those are just the first couple off the top of my head.

OSU has Chris Gamble, Orlando Pace, Terry Glenn, Joey Galloway, (until this year) Eddie George, Shawn Springs, Step, Will Smith, MIke Vrabel, Antoine Winfield.

Sheesh - it's really not even close right now between Tenn and any of those teams up there. They've produced one UNBELIEVABLE QB a very good RB, a very good LB and some other guys basically.

Like I thought, you cant prove a dang thing!!! Yea, they all put alot into the pros, but not enough to stock an entire team!!!! Prove me wrong!!! Show me with facts that there is 1 single school in the country that has more former student athletes playing in the NFL right now!!! You can't prove that because there isn't!

This was in 2003 the Vols were tied for 4th. Not bad but certaoinly not #1 like you claim. Did you notice those Florida schools? Or ASU's respectable rank?
Apparently, your mouse don't have a clicker on it. Cause if you would have clicked on the link I provided earlier, you would have seen that the Vols have exactly 53 currently on NFL rosters, like I said, enough to stock an entire team. But, this is 2004. Not the '03 season that you skipped backwards to post up.

And, as for the other dimwit, you can find enough "decent players" out of that 53 to field a pro bowl team and win! With Peyton, and Jamal, what more do you need??? What a play action fake that would be.......

sheesh - just cause your wrong doesn't mean you need to start throwing insults out there.

A Pro Bowl team out of that collection of sorry ass Vols - they must sell good hasish out there in Checkered Endzone land! Are you really insinuating that FSU and Miami and OSU haven't produced better pros?

Hell - even your golden boy - Manning - may be setting records BUT the next Championship game he wins - or EVEN PLAYS WELL IN - will be his first so take that and shove it up your Rocky-top. :D

Nice performances though against Florida, Nebraska and the Patriots for your golden boy! You know what's really sad - Your college's claim to fame is a QB who's never won a big game in his life (Peyton), a RB(Jamal Lewis) who is going to JAIL because he was invovled in COCAINE TRAFFICKING and a DE(Leonard Little) who HAS KILLED SOMEONE WHILE DRIVING DRUNK! Hail Rocky-top! Rocky-Top USA!!!!!!!!

What a joke.

Tennessee's historical 17% graduation rate proves they have very few "student athletes."

If you fielded a team with that group of Vols, teams would be paqssing deep on you all day because you wouldn't have any safeties.

Plus, how in the owrld could you win in the NFL with Casey Clausen under center? ;)

Clausen under center??? Sounds ok, but nah, I'll take my shot and bench him for Peyton. What do ya think my Colorado Rocky Top friend???

And they wouldn't need any safeties. With a front D line with John Henderson, Albert Haynesworth, and Leonard Little, the QB would never have time to throw a deep pass. He would just look for quick dump-offs to keep from getting killed, and then Al Wilson and co. would take care of that! Wouldn't ya know......another 3rd and out! Time to punt again, and let the Peyton Jamal show resume!!!!
