With all the hype and pressure to win this year on the Cards, how many games can Warner lose before he gets the axe...Now keep in mind I simply mean in a worst case scenero..type of way....Im not hoping or wishing any loses..outside of the seattle games on the cardinals...just looking for a number?

I say if he goes 0-3..they start screaming for his head...1-3.....people will be pissed....2-3 nothing much at all.

What do you think ?

I think it depends on how he plays.

But I guess that is just me.

If we score 20+ ppg and lose I am not going to blame the QB.

Green said we will not even go 0-1. One thing is for sure...we need to get off to a good start. In reality if we can hang around .500 thru the 1st 8 to 10 games, then we will be in it till the end.
As for Warner, he would have to play TERRIBLE to be benched anytime before being mathamatically eliminated from playoff contention.

Pretty much agree here. If Green was right, in that he needs to fight Navarre for the #2 QB position, this holds even more water. I think that it was a postering move, and that Leinart will be #2 unless he has a very bad preseason.

All depends on how he plays. But, if we can get decent pass protection for him (as we did last year), that should't be an issue.

But, if we reach a point in the season where we're not in the playoff race anymore, then I'll be calling for his benching myself--regardless of how he's played. Leinart needs PT. I suspect he'll get plenty because I don't think Warner can hold up an entire season, and I also suspect we'll beat some teams so badly that we'll be able to plug him in the 4th qtr (by this I don't mean to say it'll even be a semi-regular occurance, but I think Leinart will see mop-up play in one of the 49ers games and at least one other).

Warner is the QB unless he is hurt. He is too good a QB and with his weapons knows to much to have a big time let down. If we should lose the first three games there will be more pressure on Green than Warner.

I don't think most Cardinal fans are focusing on this. It presumes (falsely I think) that KW can't or won't get the job done. (As my Dad used to say: "Why look for trouble?"). I can understand, though, why a Seahawk fan might want to throw a little negative thinking onto the fire to throw us off our game...

I have thought about it a couple of times. I am eagerly optimstic about this year. To wonder if your starting QB can play all of the snaps in a season, when he hasn't done so in over 5 years..... I see nothing wrong with that.

I don't doubt his ability though, and I think that is what you are trying to say.

The 215
0-3 seems about right. But a lot hinges on his play. It takes O and D to win games.

Question posed was "How many games can KW lose before he gets yanked?"

The injury issue wasn't raised, but I agree with you that KW's injury history is something we'd better be ready to manage - with at least one backup QB who can step in should he be needed.

I'm thinking in the positive camp. I see us at leat 2-1 after the first three regular season games. The Seattle game will be tough, being in Seattle. But, if we get off to a good start against the Niners and we are still injury free, we have a chance against the Seahags.

I think Seahawks fans need to think about the stupidity of not franchising all-pro OG Steve Hutchinson and how his loss will impact their offensive.

The original question was asking how many games must Warner lose before getting benched. Nothing about injury.

I don't think it's as much a number of games, but how Kurt plays. If we're sitting 1-4 and have lost those games while scoring more than 20 points, I don't see Warner getting the hook. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get pulled if we're sitting 2-3 and not scoring more than 20 due to bad qb play. After all, we've seen Denny bench a qb after winning a game before.

Like most, I think it would be best if Leinhart didn't play his rookie season or unless the games were meaningless (garbage time or out of the playoffs). But Denny knows he can't have another sub-.500 season. A lot will depend on how Leinhart looks, too. If Denny plays him and Warner isn't injured, it won't be because he wants Leinhart to get the reps, but because he thinks Matt gives him a better chance at winning. Again, IMHO.

How many very good younger QB were injured last year? Kurt could go the entire season or go down the 1st game. He stands in there and takes a hit when he has to. He is a gamer and I respect him for it.

All I can say is that if Navarre sees the field things have blown up big time, I expect Matt to be the backup, if he's not due to some hold out or poor performance, we are in heap big trouble if Warner goes down.

Benching due to performance, that's so unlikely as to not be worth worrying about, anything can happen, that's not something I think you can worry about.

About as many...

as will get Denny fired.

Warner is a darn good QB still and will not be the reason the Cards lose IMO.

With Edge, Curt will be even better.

I look for a great start from this team, if they are a bit lucky and have no significant injuries.

Go Cards!

And yet I did not explicitly say that he has not played a full season in 5 years due to injury. He was benched a couple of years ago in NY, not necessarily because of bad play, or injury. They wanted to hand the reigns over to Eli.

I read the original question, as you already know, not all threads always stay on topic of the original question.

Warner QB's this team all year regardless of record. The only way Leinart sees the field is if Warner is injured (that's a 50-50 chance) or in mop-up duty (it better be because we're up 30 as opposed to down). With the weapons he has, Warner's worst will still be better than anything the fans in AZ have seen in 19 yrs.

based on what we all know should we get off to a poor start the chances that it will be warner's fault are remote....very remote...it would have to be bad INT's and his fumbling....let's not look at the half empty glass...just be reasonable...the one REAL issue is a possible injury...and that would be a bad thing...that is not way for Matt L to be introduced to the league

Warner will start less than 10 games or less this year, either from injury or non-production. Guaranteed.

And I'm also not so sure what everyone is so concerned about, it's not like Warner's performance was anything to write home about last year.

Huh? He played in 10 games and had over 2700 yards and 11 TDs with something like a 65% completion rate. That's pretty good.

I agree with you that there's a great chance that Warner might ne injured at some point during the season. But you couldn't be more wrong about his production last year. The Cardinal running game was one of the worst in NFL HISTORY. With absoulutely NO threat of a running game, Warner was very, very good. My God, our offense finished in the top 10, even with a running game that was dead last.

My sentiments exactly. Why does a Seahawks fan post this? How many losses before Hasselback gets the hook? Maybe they have no choice but to play him, good or bad. Behind him is Seneca Wallace, Travis Lulay and Gibran Hamdan. I think the Seahawks are going to be in the toilet if anything happens to Hasselback or he has a terrible year.
