assuming kurt would take the job which i kind of doubt but its offseason crazy speculation talk time anyway and i'm board

so what do you think if kurt was up for the job would you give chris his walking papers or is it to soon? and kurt would just be a big distraction

i picture him coming out to coach in his full pads and uniform:D

he's such a class act though i'd love to keep him around the organization in some capacity, i doubt leinert, anderson, and skelton would though the happiest man in arizona during kurts retirement speech had to be matt

I'll take Warner.

But only on the stipulation he is a playing coach for a minimum of 2 years. :p

good point

i agree...not a great fan of tinkering. if he hangs around tc which i don't feel he will he will "be in the way" and kurt knows a whole lot better than that...i don't think he will be asked, nor would he other than a just to say hello visit...

Star players rarely make the best coaches in any sport.

Perfect example is Wayne Gretzky coaching the Coyotes into the dirt then Dave Tippett coming in and taking the same team to the playoffs.

Isn't that the truth, My daughter took pitching lessons from a former Pac 10 Ace, She was horrible, she had a really hard time understanding why none of her students were as gifted as she was, last I heard she finally conceded that she was a horrible teacher.

Miller was a horrible player so I guess he qualifies for a good coach.

If I was Warner I would'nt accept anything short of Offensive Coordinator. Position coach would be below his skills to create and call plays much less techniques to his QB's.

The only QB to take Mike Martz' system to World Championship yet mikey did'nt like it that he said Kurt was taking liberties with mikey's rules.Thats one hell of a system to digest and even know it backwords and forwards as the system adds new plays each week.Only if the QB has it mastered. Also tough if the WR's are not picking it up at the same speed.Lets see how Cutler does with the Full book. The WR's have to be able to make a defensive pre-read before the play starts.Thats why many int's happen with Martz' passing offense. He does'nt use tight ends either.

Now they can help refine somebody who is already very good as they now speak the same language.

No, I don't think Warner is in anyway qualified to be a coach. IMO he disqualified himself for QB coach (much less OC) when he said in an interview about Leinart that he just does not know if he could do the job. Umm, you played with him for 4-5 years, you should know yes or no.

Sounds like he did a good job on the color commentary for the AFL game, so that is an option.

Yeah, I'm trying to think. The one off the top of my head is Ditka when he won the 86 super bowl. He made 5 pro bowls. But I am drawing a blank after that.

I would take him if he could be are emergency QB at the same time for every game and then if we were down, then Matt and Derek could both get hurt at the same time.

Not exactly but it means he has probably made many mistakes and been coached on them. That gives him the background you need as a teacher

Posts like these are the ones that make it blatantly obvious that your stories about playing in the NFL are nothing more than stories.

I proudly stand by it.The fact you blew off ugly language to me in a pm response that was totally uncalled for and other misplaced bravado shows me nothing I have'nt seen from my kids. You look good in your replica football jersey though.:)

Singletary went from position coach to defensive coordinator to Head Coach.Youngsters have no history of old players becoming Head Coaches. Not worth the work it would take in making a long historical list.Mostly before most of you were born.Still happened.

I don't know. Kurt is a great communicator and has great motivational skills as well as a fantastic knowledge of the game. I would not sell him short.

Reality & his commitment to his family & the hours coaches put in say Warner would never even consider a coaching position, so I think this is a dead topic.

Samurai Mike has NEVER run a defense.

There remains some question about whether or not he is a successful NFL coach.
