Chriss and Bender somewhat switched roles today. Chriss had a great game with 15 pts, 14 reb, 2 blocks and a steal. He was really flying all over the court on both ends.

Bender was flying around on defense, but appeared to become a little hesitant after a rough start to the game.

Ulis looked really good and has a clear knack for coming up with the loose ball, he has great hands.

Booker just continuing to show that he is just too good to be here. This may have been his last SL game.

Yeah I don't think we'll see any more of him but I believe this has been great for his confidence. Not that he doesn't believe in himself but he drew a lot of attention the second half of the season with very little help around him so it's nice to see him get a chance to dominate again against more equal odds. But with the Select team coming up, he doesn't need any more summer league game time.

1st - Ulis has some very good vision and will be a great part of the second unit. Bender looks like he is more uncomfortable and Booker seems to be on him for his bad play, not sure the kid is use to being told he is doing something wrong. You can tell Booker, Ulis and Chriss are jelling. Williams is a Tucker type play and should be hanging around. Chriss is really starting to show huge potential and confidence.

2nd they have Bender play with the second unit. Still missing shots, but still looking good. Kuric might be nice to keep around. Ryan McD said that most likely will not play anymore SL games. Chriss is showing an ability to put back Off Rev. A little worried Chriss hyper extended his elbow on a fall to the ground.

I hope Bender has a good game before the summer league is over because he keeps giving me this Zarko, Bargnani vibe where he simply falters against better and more athletic competition.

3rd - Booker took over again, Chriss and Booker finally connected on an ally-oop, I think Bledsoe will be able to get to him a lot smoother. Bender kinda disappeared, I think once Booker is out Bender will start to show what he can do.

4th - Bender over commits on def to one side giving up the baseline, looks like he is use to less athletic players who can finish. Bender does have really good passing vision. Hope this group can keep it together without Booker on the court. Next game will be the real test.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us lose the rest of our games without Booker. Our best players are very raw and other than Ulis, not really able to do much.

I'm not sure why you have such a problem with Bender. He didn't shoot well but by almost any measure other than that, he had a very good first game and that includes the eye test for most impartial people that watched him play. He followed his first game with a very poor game. Chriss did the opposite.

Bender's performance really shouldn't be a shock. He's been stuck on the bench for more than a year, how many times recently do you think he's played big minutes in a game and then turned around and played again the next day? He's 18 and not used to American basketball, this is going to take a while.

I was at the game, three rows back. Very impressed by Bender. He definitely passes the eye test in a way that Thon Maker (whom I saw the day before) doesn't. He's bigger and more physical than I expected.

Maker has looked much much better.

17/17/2 in the 2nd game.

The Zarko thought went through my mind as well for a moment watching Bender, then I remembered he is only 18 and not physically developed. The thought also went through my mind that playing a back-to-back at his stage of development might be hard. Anyway, we knew Bender would be a project.

Chriss showed his stuff. He came alive last night and demonstrated why the Suns drafted him. He can sky. I will take 15 points and 14 rebounds any night.

Ulis gives the Suns exactly what they need at PG. He can pass and make steals. He knows how to run a team. He was constantly harassing the opposing PG.

Booker plays like a man against boys. He is showing the complete package. The summer Suns will miss him when he does his thing with the USA team.

Alan Williams knows his game staying near the basket. He had 15 points and 12 rebounds. How this translates to the NBA remains to be fully seen but I like his toughness. He makes his presence known.

My overall take from the game is the Suns were united in playing defense. They were not going to give up easy buckets, especially underneath the basket. It has been a long time since I have seen a Suns team converge on a player trying to score under the basket. There was always a price to pay. I liked this toughness.

I think 15 points and 14 rebounds is a terrific stat line for a starter-type non-all-star power forward.

I think he'd see plenty of all star games if he was consistently putting up 15 points and 14 boards, those are pretty select numbers (together).

Am I the only one worried about Booker's trash talking? Boston got awfully chippy and started delivering cheap shots yesterday and Portland did the same the day before. In both cases it was brought on by Booker running his mouth. The big problem is he spreads it all over the floor, it's not like Bird for example who'd get up in someone's face but keep it between him and his opponent. Booker broadcasts.

I'm nowhere near worried about that. At all.

Booker is actually better at throwing ally-oops than both Bledsoe and Knight.

Booker's trash talking is probably the very, very last thing I'm worried about with the Suns.

It's about time the Suns have a player who's actually vocal on the court instead of so many quiet & shy guys all the time.

I haven't read anything new about TJ Warren. Do you have a link regarding his current status?

It's exciting the Suns have three teenagers (Bender, Chriss, and Booker) that have a good chance to be building blocks for the future.

I was particularly impressed by Bender yesterday. He is not soft and he has all the tools to be really good. It's hard to believe he is only 18.
I don't have the link but I did read somewhere earlier this month that he's out for summer league because he's still rehabbing his foot.

But boy does he look awkward doing it. He looks like one of those superhero characters that just figured out he has super powers and ends up running into walls and knocking down buildings and stuff. He goes up way high but then doesn't know what to do with the ball once he is up there. His hands are horrible right now. He has alot of trouble catching or holding on to the ball. Hopefully that is just some inexperience and not who he is.

The rebounds are very encouraging.

Ulis looks great. Don't know what to say about Bender. He had a number of weird fouls called on him and it just seemed to break his concentration completely.

It's also the 2nd summer league game. Just remember that. I don't see how you can really definitively say anything about any of our draft picks after 2 summer league games.

It seems this was a more serious injury than I envisioned. I knew he would be out three months but I can understand he needs additional time for rehabbing.

I guess what bothers me the most, the Suns do not seem to talk about him.

We hated it about the Morris twins and Booker is talking much more than they did.

I want the whole package. I want the great leader, the unstoppable shooting guard, the role model on and off the court. This kind of trash talking detracts from what he can be.
