I am attempting to download AVG anti-virus pro that I just bought and keep getting this error.

Anyone know how to fix it?

a forbidden error is usually an access denied type error. The website does not want to give you access to the folder/file that you are downloading for some reason.

Do they require to log in with a username/password?

I have AV and it keeps telling me that real time protection and email protection are turned off yet when I go to check status in the program it says everything is working properly.

Which browser are you using KoC ? Because it seems there's a lot of 403 errors with IE7.

Anyway try clearing the cache/cookies and return. Or try with another browser.

I don't think I downloaded ie7 because someone on here said it sucked.

How do I tell which ie I am running. I think it is ie6.

edit:

I cleared my cookies, how do I clear my cache?

Thanks for your help.

On the Internet Explorer 6 tools menu, click Internet options, then go in general tab, temporary internet files section and click on delete files button (next to delete cookies button iirc)

Ok, I did that. No luck helping with the download though.

Need more input.

Is there any more information on that page?

Try this link to bypass DNS.

Their support may be able to help you best. I am not sure they have phone support for retail users though.

Has to be something with your computer or ISP. Works fine for me.

OH like Wally said check firewall/filter software on your computer. It may be blocking .exe links. Try to disable it before you click the download.

I already have the free edition. I am upgrading to the pay edition.

I will try with the firewall disabled.

Still doesn't work. :bang:

I have sent them an email.

If I could I would just cancel the order and stick with the free edition. Too late know though. Damn impulse buying!

I recommend the Pro version.

I have upgraded computers before and found viruses the free version missed. The free version is also easier to subvert.
My niece got a virus that that made the free version unable to download updates.

This is the free version. Pro version is a different file.
Yeah I just realized you gave KoC the link to test the redirection and not just for giving him the free version. I'm stupid.

I nicely edited my post though.

I just ran the scan for the pro version and it found something the free version missed.
