Let's see, last time they "reunited" with Sammy, the tour grossed $40 million. That was three years ago. No album. Now they "reunite" with Roth. Again, no album. And no Michael Anthony either. But I'll bet they'll sell out every venue. Their last studio record was released nearly a decade ago and that was with Cherone on vocals.

Personally, I prefer the Hagar era, but their on-off-on-again reunions are getting ridiculous.

Hagar was better than the original lineup with Roth? No way. That is just not possible.

I loved 'em both for what they each contributed...I'm just curious if David will sing Sammy songs like Sammy did when they went on tour a few years back.

No Michael Anthony? That blows.

50 shows? They'll never make it - I give them a month around each other & Ed pushes a stack of his new "Fender" 5150's on DLR!! For a band that didn't want to do "nostalgia tours" a few short years ago this will be the 2nd tour with little to no new music.

They've got a challenge to keep EVH sober for that tour. It was called off earlier this year so he could go to rehab. He looks eerily like Keith Richards.

Totally agree maybe it's my age but I much preferred VH with Roth.

Roth is a joke these days and no way I'd pay to see them tour now but much prefer him to Hagar.

About the only replacement singer where I would ever argue he was better than the original was Dio replacing Ozzy in Black Sabbath. I have always insisted they were better with Dio and Ozzy was better solo. I know most people don't agree with me on that.

Van Hagar? Rediculous. Hagar Halen, was TERRIBLE! Roth ruled. Past tense. This whole ssham should never happen, but you KNOW they'll sell out every show they actually play before it all implodes and Dave goes back EMTing on the Lower East Side

Steve Perry wasnt the original singer for Journey, but was WAY better. And if I remember correctly, Bruce Dickenson was better replacing Paul De'Anno for Iron Maiden. Those are two I can think of.

Watched the press conference! I'm pretty excited about this. Was on the fence for a few days, but realized...man these guys were just awesome back in the day. I grew up listening to them. They were my all-time fave band. Rock was "fun" back then. On Friday Nov. 23...I'm gonna go have some fun! lol

lol - It's all good though. I just saw Godsmack a couple weeks ago and in 20 years when they reunite for a tour...I will go see them again saying they were great back in the day. All relative. :)

I'm just glad my favorite band is giving us VH fans another chance to see them! So much better than rehashing The Eagles or KISS imo.

Just checked www.chicagotribune.com tickets go on sale there this Saturday (August 18th) price range is $50.00 to $150.00. I wonder what there gonna ask for here?

Probably the same price everywhere. If and when they add other dates to smaller mid-size markets they'll drop the price. I doubt they do go to mid-size cities unless this tour just goes more huge than what they're anticipating.

All the major cities (Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, etc) will be in the $50-$150 price range. I like those prices. Was fearing about double that so if that is true...then Van Halen is being smart and should be able to fill up the arenas pretty good.

When they came through Phoenix last time in 2004...only the upper corners in the top deck were empty. Probably only missing about 750 bodies from a sell-out, but Phoenix has always turned up for a VH show. So almost a total sell-out at America West back in 2004 with Sammy Hagar. They should be able to do better this time around and get back to sell-outs everywhere. Unless people are just pissed and decide to completly boycott this tour. Time will tell... :)

Holy Sniekies!!! This just in...

The tickets my wife and I bought for the 2004 tour were $250 each. Very good seats!

VH ticket promoter ILAA (I Love All Access) just released those same type of tickets in Philly, Chicago, Toronto and few other cities at $695.00 per ticket. AHHHGGHHHH!!! WTH!!!!

Man...I hope Phoenix will be considered a small city like Topeka or something and they lesson the price a little...but I don't think so. Crap!!!

I was prepared to pay probably a grand for two good seats, but geez two tickets now would be like a mortgage payment. Crap!!!

Eh. I still liked them both, but to be honest, I preferred the music from the Hagar-era better.

Dreams & Right Now are my 2 favorite Van Halen songs...

So who's going to this show? :)

fyi...tickets will probably go on sale early next week. Not sure, just guessing. Regular tickets will probably be in the $80 - $120 range.

The reason Hagar sang Roth's songs live was because he could. Roth couldn't touch Hagar's if he tried. Could you see Roth singing Dreams or Love Walks In? LMFAO. That would be rich. They were both good, but Hagar had way more versatility. HEEELLLLOOOO BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5150 rocked. Without Hagar some of the best Van Halen songs would have never been written. It was good to have both, and I can't think of any other band that can say that about two singers. That third guy was a Hagar wannabe and a tool.

I pledge that I will not be there, even if a free ticket is available.
