Just got back from the game and what a game it was. McKale was rocking and Nic Wise was on fire. Who would of ever thought the Cats would be in first place at the midway point? I know staying in first will be tough but it's so exciting seeing all the young players developing under Miller.

Agreed! Huge, huge win. I don't think there are many Miller detractors at this point anymore. Chemistry seems to be building and the right players are stepping up. I'm talking about you, Mr. Wise.

- Yes, McKale was rocking tonight. Capacity crowd, loud students, and a nice effort from the team. This was my first game this season and couldn't have picked a better one.

- First place halfway through the conference season. Never would've thunk it back when we were debating the merits of Josh Pastner, Seth Greenberg, and Jim Boylen. Nor when we were squeaking out wins against Lipscomb and getting clowned by 30 against BYU. Miller has really brought this team along.

- Call of the Year: Savior Watch or "ASU is going to go on a rolll"

- Looking at it, Arizona probably needs 8 more wins to be considered for the Tournament which is going to be extremely difficult. What's most important to note is that the team seemingly improves every time out which you couldn't say at other points this season. Miller and the team need to keep up this consistency but of course that's a lot to ask with this much youth. The new Streak starts again in 2011 without a doubt.

- Jordin Mayes. Eh, take a pass Miller. Dude's not good enough and that's not mentioning his lack of respect shown for the program and players during the game today. Wait for the coaching carousel to open up some scholarships.

- Looking around college hoops and seeing Roy Williams, Ben Howland, Rick Pitino, and possibly Jim Calhoun on the wrong side of the bubble with a little over a month left makes you see how impressive Lute's Tournament streak was.

Great win for the Cats. They just keep getting better on both sides of the ball. What did Mayes do?

hop off me man. I can put the Savior Watch back up. You guys are still 12-9, not too much to be excited about. I just wanted people to learn how to spell Leinart

Well, you make two calls that were essentially meant to irk UA fans. When they blow up in your face expect to called out by them. And 12-9 is about what other guys like Roy Williams and Rick Pitino are doing right now. Considering Sean Miller took over an empty cupboard nine months ago that record, first place in the Pac-10, and road wins over your two biggest rivals is something to be somewhat excited about. Although fair or not from this point forward the expectations will inevitably rise which will end up leaving some UA fans disappointed come March.

Cheer up, Mao, UofA could always pull a Syracuse v2006 off.

That POS team with a 7-9 conference record made a run in the Big East tournament and got the privilege of being a vastly over-rated 5 seed and getting knocked off by a 12.

Ah yes, the Gerry McNamara farewell tour. That was so ******* until he got benched by Boeheim in crunch time of that first round loss.

I know you're a KU fan and I see that Jeff Withey is down on the bench not playing much. Do you see him playing much in the next two years or is he a bust? I know his mom was upset when Lute retired and was influential in his transferring.

I think he should of been more patient and waited it out because Miller is doing a great job with all the freshmen and sophomores and no doubt Jeff would be seeing more playing time at the UofA than at KU.

Withey is FAR from a bust, I'd say. He's just in a situation this year where there is too much experience ahead of him. I stress experience and not talent. He will get serious minutes next year forward for however long he stays at KU.

In his FR year, Cole only averaged 8.3 mins and less than 8 mins in conference play. While Jeff would see more PT @ UofA this year compared to KU, he would not have the opportunity to go against a big man the talent of Cole in daily practice nor would he have a big man coach the quality of Danny Manning IMO.

Cole often attributes the jump in production from his FR to SO year in practicing against Jackson and Kaun and learning under Manning. After seeing the improvement of Sasha Kaun, Darnell Jackson, and Cole Aldrich under Self and Manning I don't see why a big man would want to be anywhere else.

Withey would've been practicing against Jordan Hill and Derrick Williams which ain't exactly chopped liver.

I'm not attempting to disparage Hill, and I don't really know anything about the FR Williams. I'm just saying that IMO, KU has a pretty good thing going with our big men both in the recent times and throughout history and that Withey has no reason to regret his decision to come here.

If you really wanted to get under my skin you should have posted Collison's FT% for that game.

You and I both know you don't want to get into a measuring contest about programs. You'll just shrivel away like last time.

you're the one who brought up the "POS 2006 team" who made one of the best if not the best conference tournament runs ever. That team had heart.

Measure away, cause you can talk about a bunch of stuff that happened before I or even you were born, but we all know what happened when "Mighty Kansas" met "Unranked to start the season Syracuse", and it ended with us cuttin down the nets in Nawlins. not to mention the head to head we won against you guys last year....

7-9 in conference is a POS team and that team is a great comparison of what UofA can hope for this year to keep their tournament streak* alive. Funny that that wrinkled your panties so much.

"Mighty Kansas" has been taken down by many teams including UNC, Maryland, Duke, Arizona, or UCLA. This happens when expectations are always high for your team. Syracuse isn't anymore special than those others listed.

History matters, but even without that, since 1984/1985 we kick Syracuse's ass in total wins, FFs, Conference Championships, and NCAA Championships and that's with our legacy of under performing vs yours of over performing.

The Big East is not comparable with this years Pac-10. the fact that you think that is a comparison is a joke

so changing what i said because you know i'm right is ME backing down. good to know.....

Maybe you can show me where I compared conferences.

I changed your post because you shriveled away from the team comparison argument like you did last time. "Just ignore it and it'll go away".

you compared Syracuse in '06 to Arizona this year, thats a bold comparison you made, which you clearly can't back up.

As for team comparisons, the last two meetings are all I can remember buddy. :D

last- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzbFCoXIfKY

and i don't think we need to remember the second to last time :D

Your critical logic and ability to process analogies is piss poor. Is that the Syracuse or ASU education there?

UofA, while not likely to make it to the tournament based on their overall record, can still make the tournament if they win the conference championship, just like a piss poor 2006 Syracuse team that was 7-9 in conference and ran the table in their conference tournament surprising everyone. See how that works?

You know what, this is what teams like KSU and Mizzou throw around all the time, can't win an argument based on the total, so you resort to "well we beat you"! Surprise, teams lose games. Doesn't make you any less of a wannabe shriveled up prick trying to act like big dick on the block. Build a better tradition, long or short term and maybe I'll pay you more attention.

We went 7-9 in a very good Big East, it's not the same at all. And by bringing Syracuse into a statement that could have just been stated as "You could make a run in the Pac-10 tourney", you were bringing Syracuse into the discussion, something you clearly weren't ready for because there is no comparison there.

Maybe, just maybe, if UofA has as much "heart" as that 2006 Syracuse team, they too can get their asses handed to them in the first round by the 4th place Big 12 team in the first round.
