With Warner in as full-time starter (which scares me a little), will we see a more up-tempo offense on a regular basis?

I hope so. We move the ball really well when we're either hustling in and out of the huddle or running a no-huddle or "sugar huddle" offense.

Keep 'em on their heels. That's what I always say (well, I might start saying it, anyway).

I'm not sure if we run the no huddle/hurry-up as our primary offense that we will see the same results.

It's one thing to use it sparingly and quite different when defenses are game planning for it as our standard O

They talked about this on ESPN this morning, in one of their blitz segments or whatever the hell they call it. They said Warner would NOT run the no huddle exclusively but that we would still use it and we wanted teams to have to prepare for it, so we would switch to no huddles at times in the middle of drives to try and get the vanilla package on defense that Warner is so good at exploiting.

So won't be fulltime but we'll pick and choose our spots. I like that, full time it really puts a strain on your defense because they're back on the field too quickly, especially on 3 and outs.

They will only use it just as much as they did the last 2 games.

In the no huddle its Warner calling the plays, there is no way Wiz will give up that much control for a good part of any game.

The no-huddle has been extremely successful. I don't want to call it a "hurry up" offense, because it's not necessarily run that fast (not as fast as a 2 minute offense, for example).

Part of the reason is no doubt because Warner was running it rather than Leinart. Warner's accuracy has been amazing (~70%), and Leinart's has been poor (~50%).

But the other reason, I believe, is that Warner is great at reading the defense and calling the plays. It becomes a battle of the minds between Kurt Warner and a defensive middle linebacker. Not only is the passing more successful in the no-huddle, but Edge has run the ball with more success in that package, as well.

Whisenhunt calling the plays for Leinart and Edge has not been as successful. It has been, dare I say, too predictable. It gave the lead to Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis. In each of those games, it was the no-huddle and Warner and his playcalling that tied the game or gained the lead.

I think it would be great to go no huddle/sugar when we get the matchup we want. Lets say it 3rd and 1. The opposition sends in their run stuffers. We make the first down and immediately go into no huddle forcing them to keep that personel on the field, call a time out, or get penalized for too many men on the field.
One thing is for sure. It sure is nice having a coach that has the play calling ability of Whiz.

I'd run it much more and have the defense run more gassers.

That's just me though.

I'd most like to see them keep Warner in the shotgun as much as possible. He's far better at handling snaps that way now, and as much as I hate to say it, your season has become all about his hand.

I find it hilarious that his current new coach trusts him enough to let him run a package where he actually calls the plays, while Mike Martz wouldn't even let him call audibles.

That is interesting. Martz hasn't done so much without Warner. :)

The other beauty of the shotgun is when Warner drops the ball he's much further from the LOS so the odds increase on the Cards recovering the fumble before the defense gets a chance. WHen he's behind C and drops it one bad bounce and the defense gets it.

Martz is a mixed bag, he's a passing guru without question, but it's no coincidence that Kitnan is having concussion issues now in Detroit, Martz' system leaves the QB exposed and NFL DC's have figured out the best way to stop it is to HIT the QB.

I'm hoping Whiz can take advantage of Kurt's ability without getting him beat to a pulp.
