I am tired of the "We have an awesome defense"

Our CB's can't cover anyone and we give up the run. This defense is light years ahead of the offense, but they have not even come close to arriving as a dominant NFL defense. yet. Flame away....

PP is playing like DRC out there now. Just like DRC he started believing the hype, but still it is his 2nd year. The problem this system is geared toward 1 on 1 coverage and extra pressure. ADUB is still playing close to the line and that is when we get killed with these current CB. Also the d is on the field way to long!

Yes. Our offense was terrible and the 49ers dictated the tempo of the game. We have a good defense, but we don't have a historically great defense. This isn't anything that wasn't clear last year.

Check the stats bro. They were due for a sinker. This vaunted 49er defense stunk it up against the Vikings and giants. Every defense has a clunker or two during a 16 game season. The only ones who didn't that I witnessed myself was the ravens of 2001. Which made them one of the best of all time.

They still had complete lapses in the STL/BUF and gave up a ton of ground yards against the Vikings. The only stat that I care about right now is that this team has just lost 4 straight and cannot rely on the D to win games anymore.

With all of that said this team was the only team in the league who had not given up more than 21 points all year. The ONLY team. Tonight they still only gave up 24 and we where NEVER close. How in the world do you think this defense feels after bleeding on the field for the last month and seeing your o line playing like a bunch of pansies week in week out.

Just look at the similar plays and same D. When our cb's are 10 yards off in a zone and its a 5 yard out to Manningham it goes for a first. WHen we run that out to Roberts when their CB is in same zone its a 5 yard catch....

You guys are delusional. This defense can bring it with the best of them. This defense is on the field all the time because our offense sucks. That takes a toll on any defense. If the offense could control the ball and stay on the field, this defense gives up even fewer points.

I am no denying that our defense isn't talented. But we are not an elite defense by any means. Look at our the Giants completely made Alex Smith look like a fool .

Because the giants had an offense that made the 49ers pay for their mistakes. Once Alex smith had to actually win the game he couldn't and can't do it. I have been waiting for someone to show that, but nobody has challenged them very often. Alex smith is not a great qb. I don't care how many times gruden blows him. The guy is the luckiest Son of a Bitch! In America for the last year or so. He is the beneficiary of the 49ers sucking ass for the past 15 years. They have had top 10-15 picks for a decade or so. Now all of a sudden they are great?

I don't know what to tell you. We are an undersized defense. We will give up yards, but they have played the best defense I can ever recall a cardinal team playing. They were 4th in scoring. They are not getting the turn overs because the other teams have figured it out. Just keep pounding away because we have no offense. No reason to play to our strengths.

I am severly worried about the CB play in general. Gay has looked horrible, PP can't cover anyone, I haven't heard Toler's name in a while...I like our LB squad, but they have trouble stuffing the middle. Dan Williams is not playing well, DD is hurt, and I have no beef with CC's play.
