Put it in perspective. They have a dominant defense when compared to the last 25 years for cardinal football. They are a very good top ten defense. They are not the ravens of 2001. They are not the 49ers. They are two different defenses. His is a Super Bowl caliber defense. The offense is just killing them right now.

I am severly worried about the CB play in general. Gay has looked horrible, PP can't cover anyone, I haven't heard Toler's name in a while...I like our LB squad, but they have trouble stuffing the middle. Dan Williams is not playing well, DD is hurt, and I have no beef with CC's play.

Don't overreact. This defense has some growing up to do, but I am not worried about any of the guys you mentioned except for gay maybe.

I love when people who don't have a gotdamn clue about anything talk. Yes, the tackling has sucked, but move PP to offense? Have you seen his numbers this season against passes? He's fine.

Yeah, he's missed some tackles, but don't forget Daryl Washington leads the NFL with the most missed tackles per PFF. So while you jump on PP for being a bad tackler (and he was atrocious tonight), it's a problem throughout the defense. He's in his 2nd season and he's pretty damn good. I don't know what some of you expect out of him (I'm assuming it's Revis), but if you compare his coverage #'s with the best of them, he's in the top 10. Stick to polluting the 620 phone lines on Cardinal Talk so the rest of us don't have to read your garbage on here.

I still think the D is good, but the missed tackles are tough to watch.

Thanks for setting us straight. BTW, go suck on your stats. PP has not been playing at an elite level - WATCH him play. He had a bad game tonight and no amount of stats can change that. All things considered he's had a decent season but his press clippings were putting him up there with Revis. QB's don't target Revis for a reason but they have begun to target PP and it's not working out too well for us.

Yes. Our offense was terrible and the 49ers dictated the tempo of the game. We have a good defense, but we don't have a historically great defense. This isn't anything that wasn't clear last year.

This.

Horton AND Whis got outcoached by a staff and front office that is head and shoulders above what we put on the opposite sideline. Just in an entirely different class. The 49ers have 15 first-round picks on their roster. 15!

We're a notch below the New York Jets offense of 2009-2010. That's still pretty good, but this offense is the worst that I've seen on a team that isn't going to get the #1 overall pick in the draft. Kansas City might watch our tape to feel better about themselves.

Yeah, because 42 targets, 14 catches allowed, 219 yards, 1 TD's, 3 INT's coming into tonight is only 'decent'. Yeah, he had a rough game tonight, I'm not denying that.
He hasn't been 'decent' this year. He's been good. You go ahead and complain about what you supposedly watch, but the stats speak for themselves. He is not a problem.
He's not going to be shutdown yet. That will take time, it's a tough position. But for his 2nd year and coming off his 2nd half of last season? He's been one helluva draft pick.

I don't think you're following the bouncing ball. First off, his numbers are a bit skewed because he came into the season with a huge reputation but lately, QB's have been challenging and succeeding against that reputation. Secondly, it's his huge reputation that we've been taking issue with. Nobody is saying cut the bum, he's just not the shutdown corner his preseason hype suggested. I think he's been a great draft pick too but speaking solely of his corner play, he still has a ways to go to be considered elite.
