Kurt takes us to the Superbowl and he is heading to the HOF. Matt's future is another topic. Kurt was huge tonight and I am thrilled we have him.
Thanks! It wasn't his best game, but it didn't have to be! The whole TEAM steped it up tonight! :D

Vegas, baby, yeah!
Kurt is a Hall of Famer even before this game. If he hangs them up after this season ok. But he should be brought back if he wants to keep playing and battle Matt for the job. However Kurt should be named starter out of the gate with the QB job, his to lose. He is simply the best Qb the franchise has had to date and he should be afforded the chance to return with these Wr's if he wants. This team will not be an underdog next season. Going to be great!!! Go Iggles!!! Go Cards!!!

True, KW is HOF - but taking the Cards to the NFC Championship (and possibly, the game after it)? - that's first ballot HOF stuff right there.

yep.

And IA...don't try to troll this into a Kurt v. Leinart thread. No need for that garbage.

We are one win from the SUPER BOWL ffs.

Tonight's big win gave me thoughts of John Elway's exit from the NFL. With a running game and good(great) defense, I think Warner will be inclined to return next year. He has lost a lot of football playing time in his career which I think he would like to get back. I think for most of this season, Warner was losing a little love of the game with so much responsibility for the team's success on his shoulders. The way they have all looked in recent weeks make's me think he is once again rejuvinated.

He's been pumping his arms, smiling, etc. which had all been missing the last quarter of the year. Most importantly, I think he will take advantage of actually going into a season with the starting job being his. Next year will be his swan song. I think he would like to go out on top but he won't walk away from the first success he's had in a long time.

My wish for Kurt is the same that I've had for every great QB that's played the game--retire while on top. I hate (ala Favre, Montana) for them to push it & leaving out of necessity, and tarnishing how great they were by having an awful season. At Kurt's age, you just never know when it's coming. Leave while you are FREAKING AWESOME, and that is how you will be remembered.

Look at how people are bashing Favre now. Lots of people will say how they used to love him, but now they wish he'd "just go away." I SO don't want that for Kurt.

I wouldn't count Montana as an example of what you're talking about. He had the Chiefs in the playoffs both years he was there and he completed 70% for 300+ yards, 2 TD & 102.8 rating his last game vs. Miami in the playoffs. He wasn't dominant in '94 but he had total crap on offense to work with and still made KC a contender.

Fair enough...I just remember watching him & wishing he had retired. Admittedly, I have a bad memory; maybe I just caught a couple of bad games...I really liked Montana, and I just have memories of being sad he hadn't retired when things were great.

dude just took the Cardinals... THE CARDINALS to the brink of the Super Bowl. You can put him in the New New Testament at this point as far as I'm concerned because he's the second coming of Jesus right now IMO.

A wife, seven kids, a foundation or two, and a gas guzzling family vehicle, Kurt is not retiring.

Doesn't Warner have some million dollar bonus that kicks in because we are in the NFC Championship game?

btw, I have to give Kurt his props. He's been really solid the last 2 games and a very stabilizing presence to the team.

Here's to 2 more games of the same from him.

I have to give it to Whis and Haley. They have remolded Warner and he is playing his best postseason since 1999. Considering his playoff record as a starter is at 7-2 that's a real compliment. Just as the Cardinals are getting far less respect than they deserve, Warner's solid play has gone pretty unnoticed by the media. His stat's may not be leaping off the page but relatively speaking, he has literally outperformed every other QB in the playoffs.

The Cardinal's defense is why they have won these two games but I can't help but think that if Brady or Peyton or any of those guys had been benefitting from the same kind of support they would be lauded as the greatest thing since Unitas.
