One of these days he's going to take out one of Duncan's knees, and then he'll be sorry.

Manu is a disgrace to the game of basketball. He would be a hell of a player if it wasn't for his ridiculous flopping and dirty play. It's one thing to accentuate real contact in order to get a call, but he reacts violently when there is no contact and gets the calls, he makes a mockery of the game.

Agree on all points there. Especially the last one.
Dude is a very good player, but I lose all respect for him with his little "girly" tactics.

Doesn't sound like they showed a replay of the second time on TV but Ginobili did the exact same thing again about 4-5 minutes later, with slightly less contact -- this time Marion was the recipient. They immediately showed a replay on the big screen and the place went just short of a riot.

Definitely playoff atmosphere tonight!

The fact that it was Ginobili is what makes me question whether it was intentional or not. If it was Brent Barry or Beno Udrih then I probably wouldn't think so, but Ginobili has a history of flopping and injuring players with his erratic and ridiculous play.
LB knows all to well about that :(

Ginobili, Bowen, Kobe, and Malone from earlier were trying to inimidate their opponents with those dangeraous plays, as if to say, "Dare you come close to me, (shoot on me in case of Bowen) it's your own risk to get injured". The league must act to stop them and they did it this season already against Bowen and Kobe. It's time they send the message to Manu too.

OK guys, calm down, a bunch of you are entering blind fan boy territory. I hate Manu, I think he's a piece of crap and often a dirty player. But do we really want the league suspending guys for things like what Kobe did the other night? Eventually that'll turn around to bite the Suns in the ass. This time, I don't think what Manu did was intentional, when you are jumping, you can increase your jump by swinging your leg in conjunction with your arm, thats all he was doing.

What I found odd about the whole thing was Amare's delayed reaction: "Hey Manu, I'm going to kill you- oh I'm getting T'd up? Better lay on the floor"

Hey, we all know that Malone's elbow that sent DRob miss the whole season was not intentional. Actually, Fortson broke Zarko's hand unintentionally too. Isn't that exactly the point?:(

Please clarify, I have no idea what you are getting at. Though that may be because its 4:34 in the morning.

This is Floppy's craft. He knows how to make the dirty play look somewhat accidental but the proof is there. If you watch replay after replay of his crap it becomes apparent that he is doing these things on purpose.

He should be suspended. I thought the league wanted to get rid of dirty ball and promote the Suns brand of basketball. They should send a message.

Yet Bell is loved for his tossing of Kobe to the floor in the POs last season and getting suspended?

No, he's loved in spite of that.

Edit: Evidently there are still some on this board who found it an act of heroism, or some other such nonsense, but I trust they are in the minority.

yes because that was completed intentional... there was no gray area. it was 100% retaliation. As long as Kobe did not get permanently injured, I absolutely agree. If you had been jabbed with elbows and pushed around all night long i'm sure you'd snap at some point as well. I agreed with bell's suspension last year... actually thought he might deserve a couple more games... but it was sheer bliss to my eyes watching his closeline Kobe.

And about Gi-nose-bleed... I think that was one of the first games he didnt have a bloody nose. I dont think what he did was intentional, but I do think it was an offensive foul...

also... about amare's reaction... of course he's gonna have a delayed reaction about the pain. Have you never been hit hard in the gonads? At first its OW!... then the madness kicks in... and about 7-10 seconds into the pain sets in... you barrel over in pain and hold on to your precious marbles while your bottom lip quivers uncontrollably. If Vomiting or swelling does occur, please consult your doctor =)

Never once have retaliated and I play in tourneys and city leagues year round and I have been on the receiving end of cheap shots. Especially because I am usually bigger than the guys on the court so it's apparently an authorization to take cheap shots on a regular basis.

Never would retaliate in a PO situation when my team is playing to get into the WCF and a loss in this game would put my team down 3-2 going into a game 6 in which I would be suspended with the possibility of a longer suspension.

But it was a good win last night. No KT. No Bell (11 min played) and a healthy Spurs team.

Watch the 2nd replay from the under-the-basket angle and you'll get the best picture of what happened.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=PEDufh4Mmzs

It looks pretty clear that he sees Amare there and leads with his knee on a layup attempt (not a dunk attempt).

I've watched a Ginobili highlight video and in all of his highlights, he never leads with his knee into another player. He almost always tries to twist and contort his body in the air to avoid the contact so he can still get his shot off. The guy has amazing body control in the air and he never raises his knee that high on any of his layup attempts in traffic or wide open.

Watched that replay several times... that was a really awkard layup motion. Did you see how Duncan spreads his arms shrugging, "what, huh, did something happen?" He never fouls anyone, he doesn't believe his teammates ever foul anyone.

yo guys im new. Anyway I watched that video on youtube a lot of times and it looks very unnatural. I don't think it was intentional but leading with your leg like that is very dangerous and I have never seen a guy get hit that badly below the waist. I think Ginobili should get suspended for at least one game to send him the message to stop throwing his body/legs/arms into people that could cause injuries.

I believe what Kobe did was intentional, and I believe what Ginobli did was intentional.
If you watch them on film later it is obvious they are not natural movements.
Someone who says they were not, either does not watch a lot of basketball, is a Kobe or Ginobli die hard fan, or works for TNT.

They need to suspend players a game or two to stop this!

I do not believe what LeBron did to Wade was intentional. It was very dangerous and he received a technical foul and I think the refs got it right.

Ginoboli has laid waste to groin areas on every team in the NBA! :deadhorse2:
This is his M.O. and everyone in the league knows it, just like the Mavs Josh Howard tripping players on screen & rolls.
Manu(er) will get what's coming to him someday but I don't think he has the guts to do it to Amare again! :hulk:
