Maybe, but we're coming off a 5-win season. The 2011 Indy Colts were coming of an 11-win season.

It's a difference in a culture. Our "young studs" outside of Campbell don't know anything but failure and mediocrity.

We've brought along a failure of a defensive coordinator to coach our good players. We've brought in a mediocrity of a head coach to work with our terrible offense.

I think this is really going to work.

I'm going to choose to believe that MCD is in a kind of fuge state of denial where he can't truly assess the horror of what's actually happened to the reality of the Arizona Cardinals roster, and just kind of repeats to himself "Cap space... young guys..." while wrapping his arms around his knees.

Because his arguments don't make any sense when you line them up next to one another, and he can't explain why we're paying a kicker $1.5 million, and that's okay, but we have to cut Beanie Wells and William Gay because...

... Freedom?

I don't agree that most of our players "don't know anything but failure and mediocrity". Most of them were around for the stretch between 2011 and 2012 in which we won 11 of 13 games. That alone means that these guys have seen what it takes to win games, especially the young guys on defense. Did that run get us into the playoffs? No, but it was a rather large stretch of games in which a lot of our young players got to experience winning.

I think we call this upcoming season "Get Ready for Teddy"...

The young flash in a pan will go way too early to be drafted here. That's way having a three time Super Bowl reunited with his offensive coordinator would make this team the perennial division favorite to the year 2020 to along along with a couple of super bowl appearances. Too bad that it won't happen..

I have to admit it took me 10-minutes before I figured out why there was so much Darkside talk right after we moved to 5 & 4.

To carry that momentum forward- After checking out Jacksonville's roster and the various matchups, I'm terrified. It looks way too easy. This has all the earmarks of a trap-game and represents a defining challenge for this Cardinal football team. Do we rise to the occasion, take care of business and do what it takes to beat a team we should beat and go 6 & 4? Or do we get complacent, sloppy and so full of ourselves that we blow the opportunity?

Be very scared.

If we were sitting in a playoff position right now I would be more worried about our boys laying an egg . I think they understand that , they are in contention , and will come out ready to play . Go Cards !

I think this season is already in the toilet, I think we can expect to see the same type of season Indy had a little while ago...I just hope we are in the playoffs right after like Indy was. We gearing up for 2014 if you know what I mean. Bidwill must be down with it too. We always said we even suck at sucking, winning meaningless games that drop our draft like a bad habit. Arians, Keim, these guys aint playing around this year. They are dropping what they can and focusing longterm. They aren't making football decisions with their heart, not keeping guys with moxi, they are making football decisions they feel will benefit this team in the longrun. Our division says it aint time to plug in a player or two and go for the playoffs. Our division says we will be lucky to win more than 2 division games this year, and that's who we will face year after year.

All them tankmode supporters better suck it up and not go crazy this year when it happens, because it is going to happen.

There is NO WAY that anyone in ownership, the front office, or the coaching staff, is going to tank this season. They are about teaching this roster what it takes to win, (every week), and how to prepare to do that.

This roster may not be loaded with elite talent, but it IS loaded with great character. These Cardinals are learning how not to be your father's Cardinals. They are discovering how to get into the win column the old fashioned way, by EARNING wins, not paying for them.

I believe we are done with paying someone else to develop a QB for us. I believe that part of the necessary culture change here is to be able to grow our own quarterbacks in the future.

Our defense is formidable, as are the special teams. While our O-line lacks elite talent, the coaching staff has done a very good job of teaching a bunch of blue-collar types how to play those positions, and with an influx of talent there during the upcoming off-season, we could be well on our way to having a really good O-line. When we find, and develop our own QB, we will be on the way to repeated winning.

The very cool thing for me is that DDawg wasn't totally off base with his OP. Yes BASK cut some overpriced players and it could appear as we were in a full out rebuild mode. So the cool thing is that the FA's brought in were mostly CAP friendly and have kept us very competitive. So K9, this is what SK means by reloading.
