Unless I missed it, we've made it to Thursday morning without a single person saying the players are going to have to adjust to the ball spinning the other direction because Matt is left handed.
Damn, now you've jinxed the receivers.
No it's one of those things that has driven me nuts as long as I've been watching football. The first dropped pass from a lefty and the announcer always says "well the ball does spin differently from a left hander."
I thought that only happened in Australia...

Oh believe me. We noticed that last week and are very aware of it. Now instead of Tampb Hali it will be Jarred Allen attacking his blind side.
Actually it makes alot f sense. We hav a punter that kicks lefty. ANd alot of guys have dropped them.Oh we know all about Ross suddenly being the blind side protector. I'm just talking about the stupid announcers who always talk about the spin being opposite with a lefty. I'd be stunned if they don't bring that up in the first quarter of the game on Sunday. Hopefully right after Matt hits Boldin for a TD they'll say "wow what a catch by Boldin remember that ball is spinning the opposite direction of when Warner throws it."
With our luck it will be after Bergen has a pass hit him in the hands, bounce up in the air and be picked by Derrick Johnson for a 68 yard TD. "Remember that ball is spinning in the opposite direction and Bergen wasn't used to that."

Well I always refer to Jerry Rice on that subject when asked if it bothered him going from Joe Montana to Steve Young throwing to him. His answer was essentially "no, it's the same ball."
There are always players who talk about it but I think in general it's a pre-emptive excuse so if they drop one they can blame it on the spin.

a little off topic -- how many DUI's do guys get these days before being suspended?

Two in five months.
As for Rice, he is the worst thing to happen to radio since pop music. I swear, the other night he was talking about how back and forth a game's momentum can be. Instead of referring to the "ebb and flow" of the game, Rice talked about the "Ebony Flow" of the game......
