Sea @ Car will be a good game. Unlikely Vikes advance.

I would like to play the skins.

I think that would be a fun game to watch, personally....Might end up being like the 2010 Cards v Packs playoff game...Washington has some speed at receiver that will give the cards fits...and a TE that can catch and run.

Honestly Green Bay is probably preferable to the skins but either way the Cardinals are getting a pretty good second round matchup so they need to take advantage.

Go Big Red fulfill your destiny :newcards:
Agreed. The scheduling is setting up to be potentially ideal for the Cards and may include a rematch with Seattle. Since the Hawks showed us the full range of their playbook today, there won't be a lot of surprises should we meet again.

I just don't like playing the pack or vikes again. Its like dating your ex again. They know too much about you.

Honestly I think we tanked this game or just played basic ball.

I hope we tanked this game.

Really? I don't the logic. This is the perfect setup if the Cards execute & don't turn the ball over

I just hope CAR and SEA beat each other up senseless.

this is the best case scenario,...if we see either of them it will be after the other beat them up a bit
seattle at Carolina would be a great game.... panthers practice with cam,...so Wilson should not be much of an issue for them

This is clearly the best case scenario we wanted. Pretty much better than the 1st seed, IMO. We'll be hosting the NFC Championship regardless, IMO.

I hope Carolina wins the Seattle game. But I think Minnesota is sneaky good. Remember they only ran Peterson 9 times. He will get the ball much more. Plus all 3 of their best defenders are back. I won't be shocked if Minnesota beats Seattle but I don't expect them too. Now going back to Carolina Seattle. I rather play Carolina in Carolina then Seattle coming to our home. I think we did tank this game though. Come on we blitz more than any other team and they had 2 OL out and we played soft zone. I honestly think it was all a setup if we have to play Seattle again. Rope a dope

Pardon me for being so elementary here, but it helps me to just work this out because of the way the NFL does playoffs.

So, in the second round the Cardinals play whoever is left of the 3-4-5 seeds
Carolina plays the 4-5-6 seed remainder.

Minnesota plays Seattle. If Seattle wins, second round is Carolina v Seattle and the Cardinals play either Green Bay or Washington. If Minny wins, the second round is the Cardinals v Minny.

If, Seattle and Carolina are the two biggest obstacles to the Superbowl, this seeding could not be better.

Agree and to further that thought, I'd like to see Seattle lose immediately next week. Then have Green Bay/Washington beat Carolina.

That would be 2 HOME game against Minnesota and Green Bay/Washington to the Super Bowl.

AZ being the #2 seed plays the highest surviving seed coming out of Wildcard weekend --

#3 and #4 could advance, in which case #3 ( Minnesota) comes here

1. I think everyone is assuming that Seattle beats Minnesota. Im not sure. Human nature being what it is, I think it will be hard for Seattle to get the way they dominated the earlier meeting out of their minds this week -- I see this game being tight to the very end.

2. Green Bay at Wash. Green Bay looks like a very mediocre team right now, and I think Wash wins handily.

If? There is no if, they are the two biggest and I personally don't think we could have beaten both of those teams in the same bracket.

This was the best case scenario for the Cards.

Yeah, I think it is almost a foregone that we will be playing Washington.

That would be the best situation IMO.

i actually think playing GB would be the best situation. that team is a DUMPSTER fire right now. Washington is playing really solid football right now. That said, we should beat either one.

I don't know why anyone thought it would be to our advantage to get the #1 seed. We get to play the winner of the wild card game between the two weakest teams in the playoffs, and then if we win we either play Seattle or Minnesota at home (having beaten both this year) or Carolina on the road.

Given how well we play in East Coast games these days I don't care where we play Carolina, if we do. Home or road it will be a hard game and I like our odds either way.

I was thinking that this week --

if you subscribe to the theory that the three power teams in the NFC are AZ, CAR and SEA

then you have the oddity of the #1 seed being the team that has to beat both of the other "power three" to make the Superbowl

I agree with the premise of the OP:

I like the thought that if the Cards end up in the NFC Champ game, it will most likely be against:

1. A Carolina team in Carolina coming off of a physical slug fest against Seattle, or
2. At home, against a Seattle team coming off of a physical slugfest against Carolina AND playing its fourth road game in a row AND thinking what a cake walk their last trip down was
