Klowned by Keim
If not Kolb, what other options did we have? We were absolutely desperate for a QB after the 2010 season. Was there another option that we passed on that looking back would have been better? If not for all the injuries on the offensive side of the ball, this team could easily be looking at a 10 win season. I'm all for keeping Whiz for another year, but I'm a firm believer that once a team quits, it's almost impossible to get them back. Up until last week, this team was still pretty much competitive (only because of the D). Throw in the Dockett/Rhodes situation & the D seems to have quit. This upcoming week will say a lot about Whiz's future here. No matter what, the O has NOTHING & will produce NOTHING. If the team as a whole is competitive, then Whisenhunt deserves some praise. If the team looks anything like last week, then the decision is easier to make. That being said, we will regret it when we see Whisenhunt succeed elsewhere, because he will. OUR OWNERSHIP SUCKS! Under Bill Bidwill, it always has & always will. Replacing Whiz will do NOTHING to improve matters. We can only hope for 2 things: 1. Bill Bidwill's time as the ultimate decision maker here comes to an end SOON & 2. That Michael is the exact opposite of his father. Anything short of that & future generations of Cardinal fans will experience the same pain as my 50 years as a fan have. Bottom line, NO coach can succeed long term here!!
Alex Smith and Matt Hasselback would have been cheaper contracts and zero trade compensation.
Kyle Boller, Jake Delhomme, Trent Edwards, Charlie Frye, Bruce Gradkowski, J.P. Losman, Josh McCown, Matt Moore, Billy Volek... All would've been just as capable of leading us to a 1-5 record to begin 2012. Larry Fitzgerald might've been unhappy, but he'd have to assuage his pain and doubts on his $100 million contract where he got $40 million in the first two years.
