The more I think about it...the more I think it will be Bennett.

I would still rather have Henry but I think Green will go with the 3 headed monster at RB (Bennett/Shipp/Hambrick).

A pretty good chance it will be the NE 3rd rd pick.

That would be an awesome pickup for the Cards. If we could also trade LJ for a pick, whew it would be awesome.

I would love to possibly pick up a CB, QB, RB, FS, OG

if he can stay healthy but isn't the Pats third round pick more like a fourth rounder really since they won the Superbowl and therefore they pick last in the round. But I guess it would give the Vikes the last pick on day one.

You have to worry about the guy's durability. If we do get him we had better draft another RB early.

Only Tom Knight has proved to be less durable.

If Green abandons his MO and drafts for need, I would love seeing us drafting a corner (Rolle, Pac or Rogers) with our #8 and Arrington at #44.

Even though he's injury prone, we do have VERY capable backups in Shipp and Hambrick. For a late 3rd rounder that's a pretty good gamble and a darn good stable of RBs, IMO.

The Vikings will not settle for the 96th pick in the draft. Bennett would be a great addition but we would still have to draft a back at least by the second round. A guy like Fason or Arrington. We would have to be ready in case Bennett was to break down or we would be in back to square 1.

I love Shipp, but I cannot consider him on our depth chart until he gets on the field and runs.

The real sleeper is Hambrick. He might have pulled his head out of his a$$ and realized he could be a starter in the nfl. He showed some spark when he came in last year , especially when you consider he was out of shape. I don't think the Cards would have resigned him if he wasn't looking in anything but great shape. That being said , I'm not ready to hitch the wagon to him just yet.

We need 2 speedy backs on this team when the season opens. I kinda hope Darrin Sproles is one of them. I got a feeling this kids got a chip on his shoulder and create all kinds of havoc on return teams, 3rd downs and any time we really wanted to "spread" the defense.

I am a newly registered member ,although I have been reading this forum for about 3yrs.I have been a Cardinals fan since 1966.I decided to start posting due to the excitement I am feeling about the upcoming season.I would just like add that Darren Sproles, although small is the qwickest back I have seen since Barry Sanders and would be a great 4th round choice.

Actually, while I'm not all that excited about Bennett, I could dig Bennett for our #96, because I never felt RB was that high a priority in the first place (For example, I still have that image of Damien Anderson slanting off RT behind Joshua Rue for two long TD runs). If our O-line can run block, I could live with Kerry's "3-headed monster" of Shipp, Hambrick and Bennett (or if the deal can't get done Anderson), while using our other draft picks and existing FA cap money to address other priorities.

Regarding the possible Vike reluctance to part with Bennett for a #96 - what are they going to do with their surplus of running backs once everyone is healthy? They can't be thrilled with the idea of wasting a roster spot (and possibly cap dollars) on guys who aren't contributing to the team's success any more than we are.

Jeff you are right on target with this. I think Green has also been on target all the time with wanting Bennett. We may not get him till just before the draft..But I believe we will.
