I can’t believe that nobody is talking about this movie. Mike Judge, the director of one of the great comedies, “Office Space” is now releasing Idiocracy starring Luke Wilson today. Nobody is talking about this movie. You can’t find a promo for it even on Yahoo. It’s very odd that this is not being promoted or talked about. I would think a lot of fans of “Office Space” would be looking forward to seeing it if they knew it existed. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/idiocracy/about.php

The release is "Limited" so you have to figure it is probably 6 screens or so.

I think no one is talking about because it hasn't been advertised much if at all, and is only in limited release.

it's pretty simple - no one's talking about because FOX has buried this sucker and thus, no one actually even knows it exists.

I'm stoked to see it next week though - it's been sitting on the shelf for a while and I've been dying to see it for a while.

Saw it today finally - the first 45 minutes are abslutely brilliant, hilarious satire - it loses a little steam in the second half, but overall, it's one of the funnier movies I've seen this year.

Oh - as for the reasons it got shelved and screwed by FOX - you can bet certain lampooning of heavy advertising sources (Starbucks, Costco, Carl's Jr. FOX NEWS) probably had a lot to do with it. I could see FOX exec's pissing their pants if a lot of people actually saw this movie.

When it comes to DVD, which it probably will within a couple months, check it out - like I said, frst half - AWESOME - 2nd half decent - but a solid piece of satire on our society and a pretty good 2nd movie coming on the heels of a classic.

It hit DVD this last week. I picked it up. I was a fun comedy, nothing great and nothing like Office Space, but I did enjoy it and it is a nice addition to my DVD collection.

Overall Id give it a C-. It was funny only in its rediculousness, but after something as wonderful as Office Space, this farce was TOO over the top. Plenty of laughs, but not any real memorable ones.

I just watched it. I guess it was a little funny during parts, but definitely not a movie I would recommend to anyone. It reminded me a little of Mars Attacks, probably a lot funnier after an evening of heavy drinking. However, I did get a kick out of the Costco scenes. The view looking down at the Costco that devoured the town and the train running thru the store was pretty funny.

Almost hilarious. Almost brilliant satire. Just missed the mark on both accounts, and missing the mark on satire usually means it's a big whiff.

Compared to Office Space, this was a big pile of crap. But taken on it's own, it's just a small pile of crap. :D
