As Shane and 187 pointed out Bradley (#52) was on the field when Cam Newton scored from the one. Hope to see him out there more often.

Vontaze Burfict to the Cards?

That's the only guy (outside of a young Ray Lewis) who compares to Patrick Willis.

Washington is going to have a great year in this system. He seems to really understand the defense, and if Dumpster Dan can keep blockers off him he's going to tear it up.

Can you imagine a loose cannon like Burfict running around for the Cards? Or the Cards passing on both an offensive tackle and a rush linebacker for this wildman? Good googly moogly.

I think ASU fans should resign themselves to the idea that Burfict is going to be drafted by the Ravens and be the immediate heir apparent to Ray Lewis, who will completely straighten him out and turn him into the 2015 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Agreed. Though I love Burfict and think he can become a premier ILB in the NFL, we almost have to draft a rush backer or LT.

Levi gave up two sacks yesterday, and overall was getting pushed around by Hardy most of the game. At least Keith was going against Johnson primarily.

This draft is filled with solid LT types and rush backer prospects, so hopefully we can end this nonsense and fill those holes finally.

This is one of his sacks. For some reason, they didn't give the half sack to Schofield.

It was definitely announced at the stadium as Washington and Schofield and I about **** my pants in excitement to hear those names together on a sack. That's the future right there.

Bradley played, He was the guy about 2 inchs late stopping Cam Newton on the touchdown plunge. Stopped his forward momentum cold, then Lenon and he pushed him back.

kid was a BEAST today.

Here's what i don't get about "ha, he's gonna be better than Dansby!" Uh... we run a 3-4 D... and he's the only LBer who looks like he belongs on the field. Shouldn't this more be about "how great would BOTH of them be?" That what makes the Steelers D the last ten years so damn nasty.

He ain't making me miss Dansby because every other LBer still sucks out loud.

And how bad must Stewart be? He didn't sniff the field... even AFTER Washington went out. Was anyone else stunned by that?

Yes, yes I was.

I never saw him out there and fully expected him to be in some packages.

Bradley was in on goal line D on the TD jump by Newton. In fact he was one of the guys trying to time the jump that didn't get him.

Fair enough but I am guessing the team doesn't draft Washington in the 2nd round if Dansby is still here. Don't the play the same position anyway in the 3-4? I don't want two finesse guys Inside personally so I am not sure we would play both. Kind of either/or situation

i'd rather have Dansby and Washington than Paris Lennon and Washington.

and if you're running the 3-4, the team damn well better be drafting LBers out the wazoo.

I still struggle with #58 not doing the dirty bird dance but he is living up to potential and its nice to see someone dansby-like out there.

Washington looked fantastic yesterday.

However I think he owes a lot of that to the big guys up front. Williams also had a breakout game IMO. He really clogged up the middle and occupied blockers freeing up Washington to make plays.

I agree. Dansby can be just about any kind of LB you want him to be. He's done everything any DC has asked of him. Tackles, sacks, interceptions, Calling defenses, coverage. 4-3 OLB, 3-4 ILB, 4-3/3-4 hybrid LB. You name it.

Washington has that potential especially now that he has Big Dan to keep the Guards and Centers off him.

Looks like you can put away those pins and needles.

Inside linebacker Daryl Washington's strained calf should not keep him out for an extended amount of time, his agent said Monday, and it's possible Washington could play Sunday at Washington.

Washington's agent, Jordan Woy, said via e-mail: "Daryl should be fine. I believe he will be back for (the) next game but may miss several days of practice."

Above average 3-4 ILB play is allowed by an above average 3-4 Dline. The big guys do all of the dirty work and the linebackers get all the glory. That's just how the 3-4 works. I was a lot more positive about our run D this season knowing big dan was starting.

According to Cardschat Twitter on the "Word from the Bird Blog":

It's officially changed: Sack credited to Joey Porter Sunday should have gone half-each to Washington and Schofield.

http://blog.azcardinals.com/2011/09/14/hightowers-guarantee/

I remember thinking after the game that Porter hadn't gotten a sack and I couldn't figure out when it supposedly happened.

Porter did absolutely NOTHING last week. Time to deal with a few mistakes here and there from Schohawk and at least get some QB sacks from the position.
