Thats what people said about St. Louis after the Cardinals left. They built a new stadium and everything....then they had to give up the farm to convince the Rams to move into their shinny new, but empty, stadium.

No, the city started to build that stadium in 92. Meaning it actually broke ground in 92. 3 years before the rams moved to the city. They did it to get an expansion team and when that didn't happen they had to turn their focus to bringing an existing franchise to use the stadium.

That is why they only played one year at Busch while it takes about 3 years to build a stadium.

Don't know. I'm not sure ANYONE really knows. But it goes to show you that getting an expansion team isn't a given for any city.
