I think both halsey and gosling should make the team out of spring, and oscar should start in AAA...

Halsey and gosling have Era of about 3.4, and 4.6, and oscars is 13.5.

If it were my team, i would have the starting lineup of:

tracy
clayton
gonzo
glaus
green
cruz
hill/snyder
counsel
pitcher

Although there may be some adjustments for lefty righty matchups...

Bench:
terrero
kata
cintron
clark
hairston
hill/snyder

pitchers
1-javy
2-ortiz
3-webb
4-estes
5-gosling
Halsey
koppy
choate-(ughh)when oscar is healthy, choate is gone
valverde/ (bruney if injury)
lyon
aquino

Villareal has experience against major league talent, Gosling and Halsey really don't. The bullpen is shakey enough without worrying about two rookies

While that is true, i dont think oscar should be down the whole year. I think he should be up as soon as he has every thing figured out. Oscar has been a bg contributer to making the bullpen shaky.. he hasnt pitched well yet this spring.

I'm also not sure but I don't think Oscar has any options left.... so I'm not sure they can send him to the minors without sending him through waivers first

Like last years bullpen this one is scary. We are relying on a second year closure who had some success last but isn't proven. The others wern't very good last year why would they be good this year?

Maybe the bullpen will be managed bettar, maybe the starters will go more than 4 innings a game, if not we are destined for another losing season.

I think the BP will be better beacause of more balanced starting pitching. hopefully that will result in fewer innings pitched. i also think there are more dependable guys than last year.

some combination of

halsey
choate
villareal
koplove
lyon
valverde
bruney
aquino

should be pretty solid if thier innings are limited...

I think Lead off and OBP will be a struggle this year, leading to an "all-or nothing" type offense...

They've already sent Valverde back down to get over his arm problems presumably. I could live very well without Choate. He didn't have much last year and still doesn't.

And just for the record, I'm predicting Luis Terrero will end up being a player that all the other teams will want.

Villareal's stuff is much more suited to bullpen duty than Gosling's or Halsey's.
