And the NFLPA told you to boycott the draft would you? After all your hard work trying to get drafted to realize your dream of playing in the NFL.. Would you boycott?

It would be very difficult for a young player to go against the wishes of the players association. Like any union they have ways of getting even and you can be sure that will play a part in their decision. The agents will likely tell them to not go as they do not want to p---off their clients they already have who are in the NFLPA. They want go but they will be angry. Count on it. There could be some rogue out there who marches to his own drum who might show up. Unions operated very much through intimidation and they are good at it.

I'd go.

As a business decision, to get your face on TV, and to get people talking about the draft, and only the draft when it comes to this offseason, you can make a name for yourself before stepping out onto a field.

Plus, an agreement will be made eventually, and regardless of the outcome, a first round pick is going to be making some serious money. So, as you said, you might as well go enjoy the reward for the work put in up to that point.

Would you be concerned that once you started playing there would be some guys just waiting to hit you in your knees and end your career? I would.

damned if you do and damned if you don't

I remember the NBA refs going on strike....those that left never got hired again...and the rest got the benefits bargained in the strike.

In the NFL players who crossed the line stated after the strike they were never welcome back by any players who were on strike.

.

I disagree, this is different than the strike, the draftees are not NFL players yet, they have no contract or anything that ties them to the union. Thus they should go and be proud of their accomplishments and stand proud on that stage when their name is called. If NFL players hold that against them then they should shove off. Those before reaped the benefits of an insane draft status salary, somehting that will likely be gone with the new CBA once signed. So NFL players want them to give up an enormous rookie salary and not be recognized on the national stage, who is being selfish?
