I wouldnt boycott.. Not after all that work. Not because other people are fighting over money. At the very least Im would take my happy ass up on that stage for all the world to see. Then sit around and wait if they dont dont the CBA done soon.

Behind you
damned if you do and damned if you don't

I remember the NBA refs going on strike....those that left never got hired again...and the rest got the benefits bargained in the strike.

In the NFL players who crossed the line stated after the strike they were never welcome back by any players who were on strike.

The players will be out of money before 4 months and dying to get back on the field....and some will cross the picket line (if there are)

I'll bet some players end up taking out loans from banks and other sources at large interest rates that'll eventually bankrupt them.

The players playing today WILL LOSE any lockout...they may win for the players of the future...but they are hosing themselves.

BTW Gee, it's the owners that pay the players, not the NFLPA. So in essence, they would be fitting in with the people who pay them. They would actually appease those who do pay them.

I probably would boycott the draft and I'd be angry and bitter about being put into that position. More logically, I'd be a young kid and I'd do what my agent just told me to do.

I'd go.

As a business decision, to get your face on TV, and to get people talking about the draft, and only the draft when it comes to this offseason, you can make a name for yourself before stepping out onto a field.

Plus, an agreement will be made eventually, and regardless of the outcome, a first round pick is going to be making some serious money. So, as you said, you might as well go enjoy the reward for the work put in up to that point.

why would you boycott in support of the NFLPA that is cool with a rookie pay scale that would hurt your own earnings?

It's ridiculous for the NFLPA to even make the request. It doesn't hurt the NFL at all if the players don't show up. People don't watch the draft to see the players shake the commissioner's hand. They watch it because they want to see who gets drafted where live, and maybe to hear the pundits analysis.

The only people who are hurt by boycotting the draft is the draft prospects, missing out on their once in a lifetime chance to experience it. The union gains nothing and the NFL/owners aren't hurt at all.

After all of this, I'm bringing my family, my family' s families, my neighbors and friends, past coaches, maybe even a parrot that is trained to say "You the man." (One of the cool ones that can dance)

I would go...They shouldn't rob these kids of their moment in the sun. Let them enjoy the draft and worry about all the strike stuff after. Bad move by the former NFLPA

I just heard the Players Union might have an alternate spot to hang out at with the draftees, away from the NFL's draft location. Said they could have big stars from the NFL teams in attendance... this just gets weirder and weirder. And he said the draftees wouldn't have to manhug Goodell or support the NFL that locked them out.

If I knew I would be drafted I would be there. I have no allegiance to the union as I am not part of it. I would not be part of the union until I had to join it which would not be until I signed a contract. Why would I care what they are doing.

You would become a part of the NFLPA and while the draft is one day you would have to deal with the players who are members for the rest of your career. Not worth the risk of being shunned in the locker room.
