#Cardinals wanted not 1 linebacker, but two. With Sean Weatherspoon set to join them, I’m told Nate Irving is likely to visit this week, too

Only amazing if they can stay healthy. Training staff is going to be busy if ARZ brings in Irving or Orapko in addition to Weatherspoon.

Exactly why I started a training staff thread...wondering what the overall plan and reputation of the Cards training staff is. Do they have access to the same fountain of youth and health that the Suns staff has had for years?

Considering the amazing slew or major injuries and minor ones this team dealt with last season ide have to say a resounding no...

THis guys history 4 years in league not a full time starter till last season and couldn't even stay healthy.... Not real exciting but good for depth if Dwash gets more then the 2 games he should get I guess.

With injuries/suspension issues, LBers gonna need depth. Need it anyway running a 3-4

Why does anyone think this guy is good? Between this and Iupati, Keim is calling claiming a mulligan on his first two picks as general manager.

Is he any better than Kevin Minter or Kenny Demens or Glenn Carson? Isn`t that the real question?

Better to do that then bury your head in the sand and keep trotting out failures like past regimes.

Well, at least he's man enough to admit a mistake and make amends for it...that's how I look at it.

Those thoughts were more or less unrelated. I'm a huge Sean Weatherspoon fan, and I think I've made it clear that I don't think that Kevin Minter is very good.

I was basically hoping that someone would make an affirmative case for Nate Irving being good at football based on almost anything. "Holy crap that would be amazing" doesn't sound like adding competition for three fringe roster players.

Irving is dangerously close to "Eh, just a body" territory but the point about being better than Minter, Carson, Demens, etc. is valid. Nothing to get excited about here but for a low dollar deal I can't see the harm in bringing him in.

Nate Irving is a body, nothing more and nothing less. Essentially a guy who can play teams, and spot start if everything goes wrong again. Gives us flexibility in the draft as well.

Kent Somers @kentsomers
ILB Nate Irving, ex-Bronco, arrived in AZ last night, visiting #azcardinals today.

Now hopefully they can still get that visit with Orakpo as well.
