Over the last year or two my 9 year old son has become a NFL fanatic. He loves playing Madden and can pretty much name every player from every team. He has also become a huge Cardinals fan and loves going to games now. In fact his top gift on his wish list was a John Brown jersey.

When the Cardinals secured a home playoff game my wife wasn't sure if we should bring him to the game because the tickets were so expensive. I said hell no, he is coming to his first ever NFL playoff game!

I wouldn't trade being able to experience this game with my son for anything. For the rest of his life he will remember being at this game that will be talked about forever.

After the game was over we reenacted the Larry Fitzgerald shovel pass about 50 times while we waited for the parking lot to empty out. I will cherish this Cardinals experience for the rest of my life as I'm sure my son will also!

Go Cards!

I will treasure the victory too. Every time I hear Clay Matthews whining about the Cards getting the ball or Aaron Rodgers claiming he meant to call heads -- it makes it that much sweeter.

Funny, when I told my son to take a shower this morning, he ripped off his clothes and ran around the house yelling "No Risk It, No Biscuit"

Life is....

moments & memories. What a GREAT one for you and your son. I, too, will always treasure the moment. I know the goal is a championship...I want that, too...but, I don't think it'll taste any sweeter than what we experienced this past Sat. nite.

THANKS for sharing! :)

Mark :)

I'm in the fight for my boys' football souls with their biological father's new wife (a bears fan. He's a ninny who adopted his wife's team because he never liked sports). I'm winning. Took boys to cards v bengals game earlier this year. Their first (had to beat the "other team" to the punch).

Because of expense, travel, etc. didnt take while fam (converting their mom concurrently). I was shocked this morning when I went to show them a part of the game so they could see the towels I brought them back swirling and Trent, the five year old, said, "I want to watch the game with you." Melted my heart. The Corey, the four year old, started yelling, "I DONT WANT TO WATCH FOOTBALL! I DONT WANT TO WATCH FOOTBALL!" 50% isn't so bad at this point, is it?

I have two girls, my wife of 15 years and a daughter who is 9. Neither will watch football with me. I know your pain. Times 2.

This is why I got season tickets for my entire family. Making those memories is priceless. Even in losses, suffering together is bonding.

My son (12) is also a huge John Brown fan...loves him. I'll never forget him jumping into my arms when JB scored the TD against the Eagles. My youngest (8) absolutely adores Tyrann. They shared a "moment" his rookie year when signing an autograph for her. My oldest daughter (15) is all bout Larry, having basically watched him since she was 4. The memories and moments we've shared at the Cardinals table are so precious.

Reminds me of that spineless desperate buffoon in the Visa NFL game date commercial who spinelessly ditches his cardinals gear for patriots gear because he is desperate to date the office slor. Man I hate that commercial.

I took my youngest son to a Cardinals/Ravens game in Baltimore when he was 7. This was the game we lost when ADub almost killed Heap & was flagged 15, which set up the winning fg. After the game, without provocation, a drunk Ravens fan (trying to spit on the ground in front of us), missed & it landed on my young son instead. What ensued wasn't pretty as my oldest son Justin, put the guy down for a nap. I thought my youngest would be scarred for life. Nope, not at all. Lunatic Cardinal fan who hates the Ravens about as much as he despises the Steelers. An awesome experience

----------As well you should MadCardDisease-----------this was a game for the ages. This is what we all dreamed about, but were afraid to hope for. This game was one of those where neither team was willing to give in to the other, and where each team responded to the other with every fiber of their being. This was one of those very rare games where a team won the game on their own merits, as opposed to winning because the other team made a mistake that cost them the game. Both teams played their hearts out, and each player gave his best (and his all).

You were so very right to have taken your son to that game. You have forged a collective memory that will last for more than a lifetime between the two of you. This will last two lifetimes, yours and his. The price of those tickets is some of the best money you will ever spend. Enjoy the fruits of it together with your son for the rest of your life and his.

That is awesome Ouchie.

My son hated football until about 2 years ago when he turned 7. Except he told me that he was a NY Giants fan back then. I have no idea where that came from but as a cunning father I was able to subtly point him towards the light.

Now he is a die hard Cardinals fan. He gets pissed if I forget to call him down to watch the game with me. I toss the football to him in between plays and he makes diving catches into the couch. Watching his love for the game blossom has been fun to watch.

Couldn't agree more D-Dogg!

We are lucky enough to have an extra ticket. So I let my kids alternate and bring a friend to the games. I prefer to bring kids who have never been before so that they can experience their first Cardinals game with us. It's been a great experience and I feel it's helping build a new generation of Cardinals fans.

DUDE, OMG. That cheese grater hat guy...well, the girl behind him on his left is my daughter, and the boy behind him on his right (half his face under the back of the grater) is my son! He was sitting right in front of us.

HOW WEIRD that I was talking about them and taking them to games in this thread, and that picture is posted.

We totally do the same. Sometimes one of the kids can't make it (scouts, church, whatever) or my wife can't for some reason, so one of the kids gets to invite a friend. We've had some GREAT times getting new kids into the Cards on a different level (and we are in the endzone, 5th row, so it is crazy fun) plus it's an awesome friend thing to do.
