I'm convinced the Cardinals will/should draft OTs back to back in the draft

The only way I see this team having any sort of success immediately and over the long run is by drafting two OTs in the first two rounds. There are a lot of good ones available and it'd be really hard for the Cards to make a bad pick. I don't care who else is on the board, they need to build their offensive line now and stop putting a temporary band-aid on it year after year. I dont care what the other holes are on this team after this season and that includes QB. It feels like regardless of who is put at QB they will suck behind that dreadful line. Let's beef up our line in the draft and then see what we got at quarterback regardless of who it is now that they have a capable line blocking for them. Make it happen Keim!

On board with that.

I know he is hurt but I was so disappointed the Cardinals didn't draft Menelik Watson in the 2nd round in last years draft.

Yet that being said I believe a 1st round QB is in our future

The three tackles drafted in the top 5 this year are all struggling. Not a sure thing at all. And the team has many other needs like passrusher and tight end. I am on board with taking one in the first or second, but not both

Who else is their besides Mariota and Bridgewater? I feel like Hundley is going back to UCLA for another year and both Mariota and Bridgewater probably won't fall to the Cardinals. No other QBs are worthy of a first round pick....

Yea it's a work in progress no doubt but anyone would be a huge help to the Cardinals O-line. But seriously you want the Cardinals to waste another pick on a TE? What use could we possibly have for a TE? Pass rusher is a position I would be ok with taking.

They are rookies, and one of them is hurt.

Not to mention, all three are better than what we have on the field.

No pick is a sure thing ...... except Adrian Peterson, Patrick Peterson, Andrew Luck, and Jonathan Cooper :D

It matters, how many more games does this team win ?

Mid-round pick ? OT for sure!

We will be taking a QB in one of the first two picks, no doubt.

Best available of OT, Passrusher and TE is who we should go for with the other pick.

I would love for us someday to get one of these freakish power-forward TEs that are mismatches every Sunday.

So we go forward with Housler and Jim Dray? We have no Tight End.

A good QB can make a poor offensive line look better than it is and give you time to build a good one. Find a QB who fits the system, draft him, start him, and build the line using later picks and free agency. If you really want a first round OT, trade up from the second round and get one, but first, you need to secure the QB.

We should draft a QB immediately in the first round because we do not have one and if we do not, this staff is comprised of complete morons

Even with a rock solid Oline, the QB makes or kills your team. We need a QB more than anything, and this is the year to take one. VERY good QB class.

Early this season our Oline was doing OK. And yet Palmer still sucked. So dont blame all of offensive struggles on the line. Some yes, but its mostly Palmer.

and skelton

and kolb

and hall

and anderson

and lindley

and etc.

Friggin enough

get a QB or quit being an NFL team. Because youre either one or the other anyways.

And furthermore, Ts can be found in the 2nd round. Franchise QBs are 98% of the time in the 1st. Go for the sure thing and just take a QB. We are not the Patriots so dont think we can go find Brady in the 6th.

The only tackle that deserved to be a top 5 pick was Joeckel.. and he's hurt. Fisher and Johnson are sucky, just like I predicted they would be.

have you never watched the Packers, the Colts this year and last, the Steelers for the overwhelming majority of Big Ben's career, Seattle this year (playing with two backup OT), the Redskins last year, etc. etc.? All of those teams have bad offensive lines where their QBs get hit repeatedly and their QBs constantly elevate their level of play.

No those teams have good offensive lines. WE have a bad offensive line there is a difference. Sack numbers? Seattle when healthy is a very good line

I'm sorry, but you're just flat out wrong. WE have a bad offensive line AND a bad QB. THAT's the difference. And you say when Seattle is healthy has a good line and you're right, but the reality is right now, Seattle ISN'T healthy and their offense is STILL one of the best in the league, despite Wilson having been sacked 20 times already (leading the league). Why? Because great QBs can make due with bad offensive line play.

I mean...the Steelers for the last ten years have had good offensive lines? That's not even close to being true.

As to those teams having good O-lines the numbers just don't bear it out:

Luck was sacked 41 times last year.

Rodgers was sacked 51 times last year.

Those aren't the stats of good offensive lines, but they can get by because they have great QBs.

Didn't GB lose there entire line last year if I'm not mistaken theyve been dealing with injuries for awhile. For as long as I've been alive the Steelers have always been able to run the ball and there line has always been built to run

yes, but that's my point. even with backups getting Rodgers murdered repeatedly, that offense is still very good. Why? Because a great QB can overcome and even make his O-line better then it is.

For as long as I've been alive the Steelers have always been able to run the ball and there line has always been built to run

the Steelers haven't been able to run the ball successfully for the better part of 6 years. 26th, 14th, 11th, 19th, and 23rd are their respective rankings from 2012 back to their Super Bowl season in 2008. So, they've been bad to mediocre running the ball and Big Ben consistently gets crushed, and yet during that stretch, they still made the playoffs three times, had winning seasons 4 times and even won a Super Bowl.

Other than against Seattle the pass protection has been fine, we went into that game in the bottom 10 in sacks allowed. Good QBs make up for bad line play, we need a QB who can read a defense and make adjustments... or one that is fast enough to evade the threats that naturally come with the position. We keep bringing in bad players... they play poorly and somehow this is a surprise and it must be all the line's fault. If you go back and watch Carson's screw ups this year its virtually impossible to come away thinking its the lines fault he made some dumb read and threw into triple coverage, or that he cant spot a lurker over the middle... or that he noodle arms a screen pass about twice a game just begging for a pick 6.

If there is a solid QB available and they pass on it because they feel they "need" a lineman to better protect their QB (so he can throw a deeper pick)... I will lose my mind.

Dont get me wrong, the line is bad, but QB is by far the most important position and we are far more deficient at QB than we are on the O-line.

Back to back OT's would be overkill. I know the thinking and a draft of Kouandjio in round 1 and Henderson in round is tempting but QB and OLB are too big of needs to pass if a worthy player is sitting there.

I'm liking OT/OLB early and trade back into later round 1, if needed, and select Derek Carr.

I'm going with Barr/Carr :D as the 1st two picks.

I am on the fence about the whole "A good QB will fix all your problems".

It can take you far, and sometimes win you a Super Bowl in the case of Peyton Manning.......once.

But, a good team is going to beat a great QB without a good supporting cast more times then not, and history has dictated so.

Perfect example is Tom Brady losing last week to the Jets. Tom Brady is a great QB who can make a team, like the Pats, look so much better than the talent that is on the field, but in the end, wins are wins, and losses are losses.

Tom Brady does not have a Larry Fitzgerald and it is hurting him.

Tom Brady does not have a good defense, and it is hurting him.

Tom Brady has an offensive line that is very average, and it is hurting him.

We have all seen what Brady can do if he has one out of those three supporting situations.

Thus, I don't agree with getting a QB at all costs, because if it costs too much then you can't support the investment.
