that we are going to play much, much better than everyone is expecting tomorrow. All this negative talk about the Cards, positive talk about the Rams... I'll be stunned if we are not supremely motivated and the Rams just a touch overconfident. This Cards team, staff and players, has tremendous fight and pride. I expect to see it in spades tomorrow. And, we have a ton to play for.

Last time I was THIS confident that the Cardinals were going to play extremely well going into a game was the game against the Colts last year. And, we tore them a new one.

Hope my feeling is as accurate this time.

Oddly enough... I'm starting to feel the same way. Amazing what one W can do for fans' confidence.

I'm not. Hopefully you guys are right.

This. I hate that I'm thinking about it, but I'll have to pour a scotch or two if we lose any more players against this damn team.

My theory for why I am optimistic:

The Rams are a young team. For the first time in maybe ....... ? they are getting positive press , praise, recognition. They are coming off two blowouts to bad teams.

There was a blurb in the St Louis press about how they aren't eliminated from the playoffs ( it did realistically assess the odds ) and how they could jump over the 49ers, have a winning season, etc

How does a young team like that handle "success"?

It sounds crazy, but I think this game is a bit of a trap game for them

don't think it can really be a trap game for them. it's a prime-time showdown against the division leader who they owe payback for in the previous game.

but if they want to overlook us.. i'm all for that!

I'll be eating pizza with the wife drinking her beer, sitting outdoors at a college bar in Tucson. I'm confident that we will have a good time. Too bad the players will leave their passion on the plane and the Cards get steamrolled in traditional TNF action, with only 6 injuries to boot, struggling to make the playoffs.

I think being in prime time adds to it.

I guess I'm not using trap in the sense that they will be flat or won't have energy. I am predicting a team that doesn't pay attention to detail and the little things that make for winning football.

I've parked my doubts about this team playing well, and winning consistently, months ago...and then gametime comes around, and the Battered Fan Syndrome kicks in and I feel like this is the week we get toasted.

eh... if I'm really honest with myself, I think we lose tomorrow night.

BUT... i think we WIN next Sunday night in the huge showdown. I know that probably sounds like a stretch to some, but we just play so much damn better at home, and I keep thinking... if Skelton and a similar D could muster enough whatever they mustered up to beat the Niners back in 2011, Stanton and this D can do the same.

regardless... that place is going to be ELECTRIC that Sunday night. If we can stay close, even - gasp - get a lead in the first half, we can pull off a season defining W.

We're a team who's playing like crap going against one of the hottest teams in the NFL. STL is playing with more confidence than anyone in the NFL.

Short week on the road against a head hunting defense. Where's the confidence?

Rams are the youngest team in the NFL for the third season.

How do they handle success? They just keep destroying teams. It's not the first time they have seen this!

I hate to be a downer, but there is zero way the Cards win. None. I could go on and on about 74-7 points at home with Hill and best Rams running defense in Rams history, but that just drags it out.

Rams WILL beat the Hawks to let the Cards own the NFCW, so, be happy!
