74-7 at home with Hill? Your talking about the Broncos and Raiders games, but Hill also started the Vikings game. It's not like the Ed Jones Dome is some great home field advantage, they're 3-3 here in St. Louis. I was at their other prime time game in week 6, squinting at that tiny "jumbotron", and the Rams showed up for just under 2 quarters. Then Janoris Jenkins bit on a double move and the Rams gave up. What players on their team have had success to handle it? How is 6-7 with a 2 game win streak against Washington and Oakland success? I hope the Rams are that overconfidant, but I doubt it. As a fan of the Cardinals I'll never say there's zero chance our opponent will win, and as a Ramzfanz you should do the same.

I'm also absurdly optimistic. While I'm not 100% sure we'll win this week on 3 days rest, if we do, I'm much more confident we'll win on 10 days rest at home next week. If we find a way to win this week we've got a good chance to get the #1 seed, which means we'd have to win 3 home playoff games to be champs. I've been to a Cardinals home playoff game, and that is a true home field advantage.

As any fan of the NFL knows...Any Given Sunday... Or, in this case, Thursday.

Further, as any real Cards fan knows, nobody should ever sell THIS team short - ever! THIS team has defied the odds virtually all season long...
Can the Cards win tonight? Of course. They do own the best record in the NFL (along with 3 other teams). Contrary to what some (even some "fans" on this board) seem to believe, back to back 10 win seasons does NOT happen accidentally at the NFL level!
But, if I were a betting man, I'd go with the Rams. I mean, the Cards have lost their last 2 road games. Stanton is Stanton, a border-line terrible QB on the road. We haven't proven to be effective with our run game which only puts more pressure on Stanton. Fitz is operating at 60% at best.
Yea, we can hope our defense shows up (which they didn't do in Atlanta) and that they shutdown the Rams offense which has been on fire the past several weeks... But the odds are stacked against the Cards.

I REALLY hope we don't lay an egg in a nationally televised game... They have the excuses should they spew an egg for sure. What other team would be "successful" if their starting QB went down for the year?? Let alone the laundry list of other injuries??
But BASK don't deal with excuses...
Hoping for a win, but preparing for a loss and praying it's not an ugly one!!

Cardinals vs Rams tonight: Cardinals have lost 11 consecutive Thursday games dating back to 1950, the longest streak in NFL history (ELIAS).

win if, wye can get a running game like last game. We win if we control the clock. We win if we control turnovers and stop the run. We are capable, we are confident, on a short week this game is the most important game since Warner. Fingers crossed that the football Gods look kindly on our guys!

I am quietly confident we win tonight. I guess what buoys my confidence is the offense got into the red zone 5 times Sunday. If they had converted all of those into points of say 2 TDs and 3 FGs then that is worth 23 points. That is enough to beat the Rams. I don't see Cat hitting the uprights twice again tonight. We are talking inches here not wide misses. Hopefully BA makes enough adjustments to get 3 TDs in the red zone.

I think the betting line is hilarious. Here we have the 10-3 Cards who basically blew the Rams out a few weeks ago and who just beat the Chiefs, albeit at home, against the Rams who are 6-7. Now, the Rams have beaten Seattle and SF, are still 6-7 but have been playing well but they're still under .500. Has there ever been a sub-.500 team to be favored by 4 or more points against a 10-3 team? I'd find it hard to believe if there was. But I see the odds makers point. The Cards haven't won on a Thursday since Truman was in office so there's that.

Because we are the underdog and I would prefer the even number so I push if things go poorly?

Didn't matter though, line stayed at +4.5. Feels like a 3 point game to me so it will do.

Rams are the youngest team in the NFL for the third season.

How do they handle success? They just keep destroying teams. It's not the first time they have seen this!

winning games is easier when people dont expect you to

for the first time this year -- the Rams have expectations

If you're feeling confident, just check out Stanton's road splits. That'll cure that ill.

Never a smack talker, but I have confidence in the Rams. I think they are "finally" coming around.

But

I'd much rather see the Cards win the Division than the Seahags. So a little of me won't mind a Cards win. ;)

So everything is stacked against us--Stanton sucks on the road, we have lost 11 straight on Thursday night, Rams have back to back shut outs, Rams have only have allowed 1 TD in the last 2 home games, we have lost there the past 2 seasons and the home team has a decided advantage for short week games.

We are doomed.

Plus the Rams are honoring several of the players from the Greatest Show on Turf at half time...

That too...

I forgot to add-Honey Badger is out and Cromartie is gimpy and the interior of our OL is a mess.

This may be a blow out of historic proportions...like the game in Seattle a few years back.
