friends and family are telling me the Suns is no match for the Spurs. im so sick of it. last night i even dreamt about it - Suns eliminated in round 2 by the Spurs. need a little encouragement here in the midst of die-hard Lakers and Spurs fans.
L.A. is a lonely place for a suns fan.

those same friends and family were probably telling you the Lakers were going to upset the Suns last week. Don't worry about the Spurs yet - if we get there and we're playing like we are right now, we are certainly a match for them and have a good shot to beat them.

do we really need anymore of these "im afraid of the spurs" posts/threads? we've heard it 1,000 times. the suns can beat SA in a 7 game series just as well as SA can do the same to phx

Not really. The trick is to consistently brag about the Suns and don't give an inch when they try to reason with you. :D

Well, when the Suns beat the Lakers, Spurs and Mavs on their way to the finals, make sure you never let those people forget how wrong they have been. I for one am glad the Suns don't have too many believers aside from their fan base. The championship will be all the more special :D

I really think the Suns have to get this Spurs monkey off their backs once and for all. Part of me would feel a little letdown if the Nuggets happened to eliminate them for us. I feel to be true champs and to get the credibility from around the NBA they have to defeat their nemesis and let fans around the globe know there is a new boss in the basketball world. I especially dont want to hear Barkleys fat mouth saying "they're lucky they didnt have to play the Spurs on the way to the finals" and all that junk. I want the Suns to shut all them naysayers up!

The bigger question is do the Suns think they can beat the Spurs. You wonder if they've got a mental block about it. Amare's big on settling scores. He's got a big one to settle if it comes to a Suns/Spurs second round.

I'm not afraid of the Spurs. Didn't the Kings push them to 6 last year? And didn't they go down 3-1 against the mavs?

And with Kurt and Amare healthy, why doubt PHX's capability?

Bring any challenge on.

Mongol General: We have won again. That is good! But what is best in life?
Mongol Warrior: The open steppe, fleet horse, falcon on your wrist, wind in your hair!
Mongol General: Wrong! Conan, what is best in life?
Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!
Mongol General: That is good.

NO FEAR!!!!

According to Raja Bell, the Spurs brought in new looks on defense for the last game--they were apparently going all out for the win. Even so, the Suns pulled close at the end.

This Suns team will always become more dangerous late in series, because they don't have a lot of bells and whistles--when the other team finally runs out of tricks, they'll have to beat the Suns straight up, and the Suns have the best talent in the league 1-8. If they can jump on a tired Spurs team early and take the first two games, that series is pretty much over right there.

I'm afraid of Womanu Ginobifloppili hurting one of the Suns with his ridiculous flopping.
He still needs to get his azz BEAT for what he did to Barbles last year.

tackle is such an ugly term. we prefer "agressively put down onto the playing surface, without mal intent"

If he tackled him then he would've landed on top of him and Kobe would've been going forward. It was definitely more of a clothesline takedown.

you are right.......either way it was more dirty than any flopp i've seen. If kobe were barbosa he probably would have been out for the season. (joke).
