From watching a lot of TV and the Net I think the Cards have developed a new IMAGE. I even see articles in our local paper as well as on the major papers like USA Today, etc. This pays off as players who once would have never considered the Cards now look at us as a team that can go places. I think i began last year with our 10 wins and our big win over Seattle. We have come a long way. You can now wear your Cards gear with some pride.

Absolutely Agree, John...

I was talking with a 49'ers fan at work the other day and he said..."you guys are pretty good." I just stood there for a moment letting the words really sink in.
It was a very nice feeling.

I feel such an optimism regarding the future of our Cardinals.

NOT a false-hope or even wishful-thinking...
just very sure that we're going in the right direction.

Mark in SC :)

...And YES, the league, fans, media, etc. are DEFINITELY noticing!

There was quite a drop off there for a few years.

Doesn't matter an appearance in the SB and 4 non losing seasons started the change of culture and appearance.

It started the day Michael B. took the reins from the old man. No question about it.

I'm picking nits here but Michael B didn't really have full control of the reigns until about two years ago. At least that's how I read the tea leaves.

IMHO the Michael B influence was first felt when he made the new stadium happen. This is when he was given more say so and Bill Sr. was allowing Michael to make more and more decisions.

At this time Michael has Sr. tied up in a closet somewhere. :D

That was part of it, but the culture change was driven by an overall Bidwill family attitude change, and that took place the moment they started pouring the concrete for the new stadium.

The Cards did slip back into the same ol' Cards but you're right. The perception has changed. Now the mantle of jokes has been passed to franchises like the Raiders.

This ia true. I remember hearing a radio interview with M Bidwill and he was asked if fans would have to wait untill the stadium was complete before the team started spending money. He said no, as soon as the stadium passed they know the money will be there and will spend accordingly. I think he kept that promise.
The problem was that the team was SO far behind everyone else it took a few years to catch up. Plus Michael didnt have full control and had to deal with the Human Snail.

Since that run we have never slipped back to the same ol cardinals. Yeah we had some losing seasons but that's to be expected. We've built the defense through the draft into a monster. They might not have succeeded but they've maid moves to say we're going in the right direction. After that Super Bowl run Fitz got paid, Dockett got paid, CC got paid, Washington got paid, paying young talent was something this team never did it was almost guaranteed when a players rookie contract was up they were gone. So we might not have been winning it wasn't the same feeling as before. You knew the team was trying to make an effort. If you've really been here since day 1 you remember how hopeless it was in the 90s and I haven't felt like that in a long time

We drafted Leinart to be the QBOF and hindsight is 20/20 but that was 100% the right pick at the time. Now everybody is coming out like they knew all along he was going to be a bust. Arizona was going crazy when we got him and the media couldn't praise us enough

The organization swung and missed on Kevin Kolb but AT LEAST THEY SWUNG something they never would have done before. Whiz said that's the guy I want get me him and we can win so they did what they needed to do got Whiz his guy and to start the season he played very well and we seen the results then he got hurt. Didn't work out but they did something Sr would have never done.
