I got the bug, nostalgia of the first hot pursuit game ever, sitting around with buddies running from cops for hours, not feeling like playing ghosts but wanting to game so I went and bought it. (Prior to that i searched and searched to find any way to rent a video game these days - I guess gaefly is all there is anymore and there is not a big enough xbone library top do that.) Brought it home, slapped it in and waited 20 minutes for it to install as usual.

One installed I fired it up to play and apparently the game is online only. IT would say joining for 15 minutes, I could hear people talking but nothing was happening.

I did a hard reboot, got it to work and was finally gaming.

This NFS is like another one I played recently where all missions and etc you have to drive in the open world to them.

So, you get a few missions to do, you spend 5 minutes driving to the race and then race.

The whole thing felt bland and clunky. Once in a race things felt ok but then every single thing you hit causes an issue, there are EMP and shockwaves and etc you can send from your cars.

Basically, they are trying to feel somewhat realistic but have very arcade features.

Me personally, I dont like sims. My top racing game ever was burnout revenge - non stop 200MPH adrenelin pumping racing with tons of encourages crashing and grinding shoulder rails. Click start race and you actually start a race, not have to drive across the country to find the race.

OVerall with Rivals, the fun wasnt there. Driving to missions is annoying.

I was so dissapointed in the game i took it to gamestop and claimed it was broken. Then replaced it with a new copy. Took the new copy to another gamestop and told them it was a gift and I wanted to return it.

Then I proceeded to buy gta5 and play it for 2 hours last night! The racing on gta is far better and its not even a racing game

I'm not a big fan of the series. I too had a ton of fun with Burnout Revenge. I also had a lot of fun with Gran Tourismo 4.

I also really like Forza 4 and how that has changed throughout the series.
