Now nearly a week into NFL free agency, which of the Indianapolis Colts' own free agents are signed and which are still available?

The Colts entered the free agency with a hefty amount of their own free agents. A few have re-signed, a few have headed elsewhere, and a lot are still available on the free-agent market.

Colts free agents still available

  • IDL Raekwon Davis: The Colts released Davis prior to free agency to free up over $6 million in salary cap space. In a rotational role in 2024, his impact was minimal.
  • TE Mo Alie-Cox: Alie-Cox has provided the Colts with a blocking presence for a number of years. With this offseason feeling like an opportunity to hit reset at the tight end position, I would guess he signs elsewhere.
  • QB Joe Flacco: Flacco could provide a veteran presence for a few teams that are still searching for a quarterback or to fill the backup role. He has reportedly visited with the New York Giants.
  • LB EJ Speed: The Colts still need to find a starting presence next to Zaire Franklin. Perhaps it's Jaylon Carlies, but regardless, they need a greater coverage presence and more reliable tackling.
  • S Julian Blackmon: Blackmon played through a shoulder injury last season and transitioned back to free safety, where his production dipped compared to 2023. With Cam Bynum and Nick Cross, Blackmon won't be returning.
  • IDL Taven Bryan: Like Davis, Bryan filled a rotational role and his impact against both the run and pass was minimal, according to PFF's metrics.
  • OL Mark Glowinski: The Colts need more interior offensive line depth, but that likely won't come from Glowinski with Danny Pinter and Wesley French being re-signed.
  • CB David Long: Long was a primary special teams contributor last season when he did see playing time. The cornerback position has been significantly upgraded this offseason, including the depth with Corey Ballentine.
  • S Ronnie Harrison: I do think Harrison could have a path back to the Colts, given his versatility and special teams experience, and this is a position that still needs depth added to it.
  • WR Juwann Winfree: Both in terms of the 53-man roster and overall depth, the Colts are pretty well set at wide receiver.
  • RB Trey Sermon: I would guess another addition here is coming in the draft, given how deep this year's class is, but with the addition of Khalil Herbert, that adds some stability to this room behind Jonthan Taylor.
  • QB Sam Ehlinger: With the top two spots on the quarterback depth chart accounted for, I would expect the Colts to bank on Jason Bean's upside for that third quarterback spot rather than bringing back Ehlinger again.
  • CB Tre Flowers: As mentioned, the cornerback room has done a 180 this offseason and is now quite full.
