Injury Status - Unit and Schill?

Any updates on these two guys or Hildebrand? I honestly think that if we had three of those guy healthy - we'd be at most 2 games out of a playoff spot right now.

Any news on when ANY of them will be back?

Hillenbrand was placed on the 15-day DL (retroactive to June 9th); David Dellucci was activated to take Hillenbrand's spot on the roster.

Is Randy's recovery taking longer than they feared - wasn't it originally supposed to be 4-6 weeks? When is the All-Star break?

I felt the 4-6 weeks thing was waaaay too optimistic when first issued. 6-8 was alot more realistic to me and even then he likely won't feel 100% but close.

I believe AllStar break is the MTW after the 4th.

all-star game is July 13ish - 21 more games. I don't know if they can hold on that long for the reinforcements. Can't be giving away games like last night if we want to stay in it.

Agree. It is going to be tough to get back to the 2 horses but the big question is when they come back, will they be immediately effective or will it be a case of hitters being in midseason form and Unit and Schilling being in spring training form?

While last night didn't help, if they can still take 2 of 3 that will be a plus. Eventually though, they will need sweeps to make up the ground and they will need to dominate in divisional play.

Schilling was on 910 AM with Ascher today and he sounded rather frustrated...said he couldn't even grip a baseball yet.
