Lombardi(o?) and Davis(?), well, two of those guys anyway, were discussing Cardinals and GB and how the way things look today, there is a chance that they play each other two weeks in a row. Last game of the season and the in the first round of the playoffs.

That would suck, IMO.

if we were in line to play them twice in a row (meaning the chance for first round bye was gone) Leinart would be in and some other guys would be very limited.

That is not really likely. Whis said last year he doesnt really agree with that way of thinking.

I do, however, like how we match up with GB.

Philly worries me. McNabb and Vick's mobility, and Jackson big time speed. Add to that last year's victory over them, i just don't know.

Yeah, i'm leery about either the Cowboys, Eagles or Giants in the first game. I actually think it's a negative that we beat them the last time we played them.

Dallas worries me much less than Philly and NYG. Plus, beating the pokes would be that much sweeter.

Yeah, of the 3 I would pick the Cowboys. I'd have a queasy feeling all week though, because a loss to them in the playoffs would be so horrendous.

Likely Leinart is playing that game if we win this week on Monday I think (unless the Vikings free fall) we will have little too play for. Warner will get the rest and Wiz will not want to give away ANYTHING for the exact same game the next week.

This will accomplish two things. Give the team the chance to see Leinart after a week of practice and vanilla schems so that the Vikings dont see how we attack their scheme.

I am okay with the matchup (esp at home) but Aaron Rodgers scares the hell out of me.

I was thinking just that. Leinart first go round, Warner the following week.

I've been posting for two weeks now that we'd probably play the packers twice.I must be on everyone's ignore list.

I don't think we let Leinart play unless Kurt Warner is hurt.Kurt needs to keep lighting it up week to week.Lets just stay as healthy as possible if not even get some guys well like Will Davis to add to this teams depth.

Whiz uses everyone. He has packages for the Howler for Hightower, for Beanie and he does'nt leave out Wright either. He gets a play or two also. You have to prepare for everyone.Even on defense everyone plays. Its a hard thing to do.Most teams don't have near the depth we have on our team and actually USE IT!!!! What a BLESSING.:D

The Eagles concerned me more in the past when they were basically a screen and dink and dunk West Coast offense. now they throw a lot more vertically with guys like Jackson and Macklin and I think that actually works better for us because we're so bad defending screens and underneath stuff to the TE.

Whiz knows better than to give away anything to the Packers. McCarthy, on the other hand, is a moron blessed with a good team.

If the Cardinals are slated to play Green Bay in the first round of the playoffs, Whisenhunt is not going to want to show them anything in that case. He may play the starters but the game plan will look like what the Packers saw from the Cardinals in pre-season.

As for Dallas, I don't think they will make it to the playoffs, and Wade Phillips will get fired!

Here is my Cards Playoff prediction.

The Cards end up the #4 seed. The Eagles barely get in with the final Wild Card spot and the Packers get the #1 Wild Card.

The Cards Beat the Packers in the Wild Card round in Az.

The Eagles beat the Cowboys in the Wild Card round in Dallas.

Then

The Cards beat the Vikings in Minnesota

and the Eagles beat the Saints in NO

Then

The Cards beat the Eagles in Az.

...

Yeah I know... it sounds crazy and probably has never happened like that before.

We will be sitting at home in the first round of the playoffs, waiting to see who we'll be playing at home the following week.

#2 seed is in our grasp. Minny will drop a couple. We will win out.

Well, According to Wyche over at NFL.com the Cards dont have a shot at #2:

Arizona (8-4)

Remaining schedule: at San Francisco (5-7), at Detroit (2-10), St. Louis (1-11), Green Bay (8-4)
The Cards should clinch the NFC West this weekend by beating the 49ers. However, that's when coach Ken Whisenhunt should get concerned. His team has a way of losing focus, and playing Detroit and St. Louis consecutively could prompt a loss or two that would likely put Arizona on the road after the first stage of the postseason.
Prediction: The Cardinals don't close the way they could and will host a wild-card team, but that is good for them because it doesn't give them idle time to think about things. This is a very dangerous team that could surprise once again and advance to the conference title game.

I just read this and if Wyche is so locked back in 2008.Someone needs to go unlock the time machine and let his ass out.How in heck could we LET the lambs and kittens beat us after beating the best teams on our schedule this year in the Giants and Vikings.

This guy is SO DUMB he thinks as soon as we lock up the Western Division Title on Monday night that everyone is going to the beach or something? What kind of baffoon is he?

We still have coach Whiz who on that same page was rated as the #1 head coach in the league right at this moment.Kudos to whoever wrote that lil' bit piece.Whiz won't let this team have a letdown. We'll have bigtime gameplans for both the lions & rams and also greenbay. Why not get two shots at beating them twice.Lets see what makes the packers tick.I don't think we have trouble stopping thier run game and they have about 4 recievers they throw to.I think we do what everyone in the league did this year and thats sack the heck out of the qb and make them go 3 and out and don't forget the packers are the highest penalized team in the league.

I'm not giving up on the idea we can get the #2 Playoff spot.I want to see the vikings and bengals game at noon this weekend.Gonna watch it close and see if E.J. Henderson's loss really hurts thier team and if AP is still stuck in the mud.LMAO

I want a BENGALS win of course and then I KNOW the CARDINALS will smell blood in the water for that second spot and play BALLS TO THE WALL till the giants beat the vikes in the last game.I will be one happy arse man.I know it can happen.

A side note.O.J Otogwe who delivered the concussion hit to Kurt Warner was put on I.R. today as he has a season ending shoulder injury. It seems to have come out of joint.Personally ...and I know I'm the only one who feels this way but I think he put his weight on Kurts head into that turf more than was needed to bring him down. The rams hate how the loss of Warner and thier own fans still love him.

The rams are decades away from building anything real. Its a bad qb year and Ndamikong Suh isn't a top 2 pick you want to start on your defensive line. Not me.He won't be the big man on campus in the NFL. Goodluck with that Spags.Maybe ya'll take Locker or Clausen and think they are the qbof for you.Its sad to draft that high every year and pay that much money to players who don't play.Like your OT that missed the whole season this year. The top 10 players in the draft when you look back on them are just funny to look at now.

I really hope we only have to play two playoff games to go to the SUPERBOWL this year.I want the colts so bad I can taste it.This time we're gonna use the same stuff we did on the vikes and Warner will have time to make his long throws and I see us putting all kinds of defenses against a team that has STUNK the PLAYOFFS up everyyear but ONE in their history.

THIS IS OUR YEAR CARDINALS FANS.Sorry we have to make the katrina folks suffer again after a possible 16 game win streak just to see them lose again in the playoffs.WE SHOULD HAVE WON LAST YEAR.THATS WHY WE ARE BACK TO CLAIM WHATS OURS.

It will take DECADES before anyone talks bad about the CARDINALS again.

IMO, this needs to be flipped. Dallas has no shot at winning the NFC East. They've already started their annual December crapping of the bed and their remaining schedule is brutal.

I thknk good chance we play the Cowboys in the first round, if we don't secure a bye.

Either way, same end result.
