Er, maybe because it's kinda like self-deceiving, when we already start to project him as our franchise player so soon? :D

Well, gee, people have been against getting Kobe because of JJ's recent play.

I don't think you're implying that I think that JJ is our "franchise player". I certainly do not. Right now, we don't have one--even though Marion is the closest we have to one.

Which in turn is why I support the idea of signing Kobe Bryant, who is a true Franchise Player.

Chaplin,

it's exactly why we need some reality check for those fans who did imply to project JJ as the Franchise player for Suns future.;) This is all what we do besides "enjoying the awakening of JJ".

Well, I haven't noticed many of those. But then again, the threads all seem to be about the same things nowadays... :D

You haven't? That's one reason (i.e. JJ's rise from the ashes) they thought we didn't need Kobe here! :(
But we seem to roughly share the same idea as to the priority for the Suns, for now.;)

I think it's likely that Hardaway's presence bothered JJ since he has sent as much himself. I honestly believe the bigger factor is Marbury's departure. JJ and Shawn Marion are getting a lot more opportunities in the open court, and even in the half-court offense the movement and spacing is much, much better. There is obviously still room for improvement, but it is better.

I also think there's something to be said for success breeding confidence.

Before the trade the Phoenix Suns were 12-22, and they've gone 6-10 since then. And frankly I think it would be perfectly fair to throw out the first game or two after the trade.

Well, I believe he was in the lineup for 3 of those 6 victories. With Amare Stoudemire this team looked a lot better than they did when he was healthy earlier in the season. Of course they were also under a different coach. It's just hard to compare the situations.

I think they are 3-1 when Amare was starting. They lost that game to Denver and against Sacramento when Amare was on the bench to start the game.
