As the 2025 college football season slowly approaches in the distance, Iowa athletics has announced themes and ticket timelines for its seven home football games played at Kinnick Stadium this fall.
The season will kick off on Aug. 30 against FCS-level Albany. The game is designated as the annual Extra Yard for Teachers Day and Educator Appreciation Day, as Iowa salutes teachers from around the state.
The annual FryFest will also be held on Friday, Aug. 29, at the Iowa River Landing, celebrating everything Hawkeyes. The Iowa Letterwinner Club will celebrate the 2025 Hall of Fame class throughout the weekend, including introducing the 2025 class in Kinnick Stadium on Saturday against the Greate Danes.
Iowa concludes its nonconference schedule on Sept. 13, welcoming UMass to Iowa City. This game will be the annual Gold Out Game, where fans will be encouraged to wear gold clothing.
The Hawkeyes celebrate Homecoming in their Big Ten Conference home opener against Indiana on Sept. 27, with the Homecoming Council and court will be presented at halftime.
Iowa will entertain 2024 College Football Playoff qualifier Penn State in the annual ANF Black and Gold Spirit Game on Oct. 18. Fans are encouraged to wear black or gold clothing based on their seat location. The 13th former Hawkeye added to the ANF Wall of Honor will be recognized during the contest.
Iowa will host Minnesota in the battle for the Floyd of Rosedale trophy on Oct. 25, which is Family Weekend and the annual Blackout game. Fans are encouraged to wear black attire as part of the Blackout.
On Nov. 8, Oregon will pay its first visit to Kinnick Stadium in 36 years. This will be Military Appreciation Day, and Iowa Athletics will give special acknowledgments to active duty and veterans of the armed services.
The final home game of the regular season will be against Michigan State on Nov. 22, which is designated Senior Day. Iowa will celebrate senior classes for the football program, marching band, and spirit squads. Former Iowa letter winners will once again form the Tunnel of Honor to welcome the Hawkeyes onto the field prior to the contest.
Start times for the first three home games are expected to be announced in late May, while the remaining start times will be announced six or 12 days before each game.
